Steve dude switch to decaf.... yes the community needs donations to run..but the point of a community is to have members, expand, interact, etc... alright.. yeah ur next insult probably... do i donate?? yes I have on occasion when I've had money to do so..... but chewing on the tf2 com. like that.. fine i don't play the game so really i don't care... but we do have a lot of regulars that use and appreciate our time and effort... if it helps save cost reduce the # of active tf2 servers or threaten to shut them down all together if people don't help out.... zackychuu dude.. people don't always take kindly to change.. I know i didn't it takes time and patience which yes most of us don't have... but reacting to trolls just encourages them.. Steve is a good dude and trys hard to keep the place the running... give him some credit..... thats all i got for now...

Is there anyway that the new system dropping cases or guns could be turned into a donation incentive in CSGO. For example a player could donate "Trade" cases or valuable guns with an admin say "Low Budget" for less valuable items. Then Low Budget could "Trade" these items to donator's. Perhaps one case for $10 as a donation reward or incentive..
Don't know if there is any merit to this suggestion, I do know the members and Admins are quite inventive and I'm sure could come up with something to encourage donations to meet the monthly goal.

Don't leave Zachy we need you here.

besides, steve, if you're going to be that bottleneck that refuses to let TD expand and attract more players from different games, maybe you're not cut out to be a td admin..
ban me, i don't really care at this point, because if i have to say my opinion to get td off it's ass then i will.

You stupid twat, I came up with the original concept of expanding DARKLY instead of only TD. I pushed for trade servers when it was young and still financially rewarding, I pushed for BF3 servers, I pushed for BC2 servers, I even pushed the idea of a DayZ server.

Get off my dick.

Time has shown, that having 20 TF2 servers does not actually do anything for us. Plain and simple.

I can't get off your dick because it's too damn big for your own good.
I didn't know what you did because I'm relatively new to this community unlike your withered self. You shouldn't host servers because you want a profit, you should run servers because of the feeling of hosting servers where people can talk and chill, and do some trading.

Boo!?

Hey.. so I've been playing in your GO server for quit sometime lately.. and I'm wondering, and when I donate, is it to Darkly as a whole? or do I donate to a specific server?

steve is treating tf2 like shit and zack has had enough.

I wouldn't let a pos like Stevie boy push me out that easily.

I was just going by his "The players TF2 brings to TD aren't worth a penny" comment.
I mean, I was brought here by TF2, so he was obviously including me in that, right?

Meh, let him rant all he wants, he's a man child and isn't gonna get it his own way so will just carry on.

Not one single TD member supported trade servers for this reason. The only reason we ever wanted them was to help pay for the game servers we actually use and like.

Just to throw this out there, I've enjoyed my time here at Darkly. It's crazy as fuck, but it's fun. With that in mind, I'd love to foot the bill for Darkly, or at least help. But the fact of the matter is, I can't. I don't have that kind of money. If I did, you can be certain I'd help out.

I'll agree that it's a little hard to tell if Steve is joking around, but usually I take a step back and think, if he really hates hosting TF2 that much, why are they still up?

The fact of the matter is that most of the TF2 servers are almost constantly full. People ARE enjoying them. I think if we pass on the message that if they want to continue enjoying them, we need help, we might see some results. Again, this is a maybe, but if we haven't hit the donation goal in the past two months, isn't it worth a try?

I'm not going to sit here and tell people that they should leave or stay. If someone feels it is in their best interest to leave, then they should leave. If they feel like putting up with Darkly madness for another day, then stay. Of course, I don't want anyone to leave, but I won't force anyone to stay.

I'm fine with how things are as they are. But I will point out that TF2 is a continued toxic economic investment in every thread like this.

Which I don't know if you have noticed, but there has already been 2-3 of these threads this year. Hmm.

Any person, business, community, that is unable to adapt and change as situations change, is doomed to fail. I'm merely pointing out that there are other options.

Here's an idea. First of all, I've made no secret of the fact that I want TD to run a CS:GO DM server. Setting aside what I want, though, I actually think that having a DM server instead of the classic competitive server might even be more financially rewarding in the long term. I've noticed that players often spill into the competitive server when the casual server is full. However, the numbers continue to show that the competitive server is a big turn off. TD would probably have a much higher retention rate of CS:GO players if we had a DM server for them to play in when the casual server is full.

I am saying that no TD member ever gave a fuck about people having a nice place to trade.

but are you running this for your own little group of TD people or for the people who sport the DARKLY tag?
if you're running this for the TD community then you might as well put a password on the cs:s and cs:go server and kill every other server, no?

I didint want this thread to turn ugly, but try to think of new ideas to create more income. I think a DM server is a good idea. Also reserved spots for a certain amount that has to be paid every month or 2. I can't say what to do for TF2 cause I don't play it or have no idea about the game itself. Correct me if I'm wrong but It seems that the TF2 community hasn't been helping out as much financially. We need to make a list of ideas and put them in to place sooner than later.
