Lb, to get the excess calories you simply eat more then you burn off. Simple equations (I actually posted it on the old site so maybe one day I'll grab it, update it a little and repost it here). Anyways,
Take your bodyweight, multiply by 10. This is that the average person in a day would burn. If you work out, you need to add 60%. That would then take you to a neutral state, to have the excess needed to generate tissue add 500 cal on top of that.
Me, 180LBS
180x10 = 1,800 (If I didn't work out)
1,800 x 1.6 = 2,880 (My needs were I to work out and stay the same)
2,880 + 500 = 3,380 (What I would need if I wanted to get bigger)
I personally choose to stay around 180 (For now at least since I was supposed to compete in the middleweight bodybuilding competitions, decided to say fuck it and will prob go for muscle model in the spring).

That's 180 @ 6ft w/ 7% bf. Anyone can easily get to that with training properly.
Ps, with the calories needed to add muscle, you will be adding some fat as well, but it's necessary as an exact formula is impossible and would be change with even the addition of 1 extra step taken in your day. Those are approximates, although proven to be the most accurate and beneficial.
Also, eat shit and you'll look like shit. You want to "clean bulk" meaning the excess calories you get are from healthy foods, just in large enough quantities.
