I'm waiting until the drive sizes are much larger before I jump on the SSD bandwagon. 120GB is like 5 songs :D

SSD only needs enough space to store your OS and games, media can go on HDDs. SSD is a real game-changer, the awesomeness of fast-loading everything cannot be understated

yeah, hdd's are super bottleneck with today's crazy computers.

Compared to how fast the CPU accesses RAM, the SATA interconnect is also a bottleneck. When I upgrade my mobo I plan to get a PCI-E SSD. They're up to 480GB with that now, if memory serves, but you could build a whole rig for what that costs.

Yea when I get a new system I'll be buying a cheap Sata SSD + PCI-E SSD.

OCZ makes some good drives. intel as well. sata3 is backwards compatible with sata2.

is sandforce like the 2nd gen ssd's ? like, my intel drives r like 270 read and 15 write, while my newer ssd is 275 read, 275 write ?

yea Sandforce/DuraClass is meant to be the final word in SSD tech. Probably not gonna see any other type of controllers in drives in the near future
