I prefer mumble but will use what ever. having 2 voice chat systems does not make sense. But i dont think number of people will come back to voice chat just because of the massive splintering into different games (the latest update to CS:S just did not do enough to make it viable for much longer). and with out a core game that makes people talk to each other no random voice chat will save that.

two doesn't make sense, unless one is free. Mumble is free, ventrilo is more popular.

people don't use VoIP for css, however people do use it while playing BC2, Minecraft, WoW, MMA PPV chat, TF2, and scrims. Voice chat will also be big for BF3 which will be a main attraction after release this fall.

Anyways the new ventrilo server is up:

Have you at least connected to the server? If not I'll link to the thread with the mumble information.

If you have already connected, then all you have to do it double-click any of the "channel" names (eg: Darkly BF3 Conquest), and your name will go under that channel. You can really choose any channel, so long as you're not bothering people, or are actually playing the game that others are playing under that channl, you get the idea...

If you have mumble installed on your computer, you can connect via the quickjoin for the servers on the main page of the site.
