Ventrilo Normalization

I've been promising to do this for awhile:

If you have issues with everyone coming through at different volumes in vent (some too loud, some too soft) there is a way to tweak it so everyone comes through at the same volume.

- Go into Setup and Enable Direct Sound for Output (upper right hand corner).

- Click SFX button

-Add the compressor effect to the current list with the following settings:

• *Gain around 15 *Attack around 10 * Release around 500 * Threshold around -30 * Ratio around 100 * Pre delay at 4.0

and everyone should be roughly the same volume.

Even after applying these settings, I still need to adjust each persons megaphone or deafperson voice

Wh1te if that's the case, you must increase compression.

Audio compression: make suble noise louder, make loud noise more subtle. At the right compression, they will all be audible at the same intensity.

Thats what I found to. Depends on your sound driver settings, initially it didn't work the best for me either.

I came all over this thread. Give it a few minutes to dry and it should stick to the top of the Tech forum permanently. If it gets unstuck somehow, then it just means Spinny and/or iCe ate it.
