400GB is complete overkill unless you have a specific need to constantly be transfering large amounts of data from drive to drive. For the cost of a 400GB SSD you could get a 120GB SSD (enough to store the OS, frequently used apps and a few bigass games) and a few HDDs that would provide you way more storage space at a cost of speed, which, as mentioned, is not really an issue unless you often find yourself thinking: "gee, I wish this 5k-rez goat porn would transfer faster".

FWIW I do have 5 HDDs in addition to 2 SDDs and I find the oodles of extra storage space far more valuable for the price than the ability to transfer massive files from drive to drive faster, which is really the only use for the extra speed unless you happen to be connected to a network so fast it exceeds the average write speed of HDDs but that seems unlikely.

check this Linus @ NCIX SSD comparison the TL;DW is Samsung Pro or Plextor Xtreme M5Pro
In the video, they are using the normal M5P but the pro is only a few dollars more (still cheaper than a 840Pro)
840 -> M5P -> 840 Pro/ Xtreme M5Pro
But it's all very close
I don't know (but I can hope!) that my comment on this video that they missed the Plextor Xtreme M5Pro led to this video, but shortly they will directly compare the 840 Pro to the Xtreme M5Pro (as well as other top SSDs). I think either is a winner with 5yr warranty and similar performance, but more info is great too!
