Well, information can travel no faster than the speed of light, and since we've only been sending radio signals for the past ~70 years, it follows that, it may take 100's of billions of years to reach alien civilizations, and vice versa.

If anything, this video highlights the fact that, yes, the chance of intelligent life existing elsewhere is equal to the inverse likihood of a "god" throwing this all together in 7 days.

Even with all those stars hosting their own solar system, the chances of one of them having intelligent life like that on earth is still fairly slim. I imagine that there would be a bunch of alien life out there in the form of retarded creatures. Nothing that can be able contact us.
