Tourney - lets get it done

Okay lets get this tourney rolling.

1V1 SC2 Tourney

2 days for prep, so by Thursday i should have the names of all who want to particiapte.

The play format will be very simple.

Whoever signs up gets thrown into a pool and pairs will be drawn randomly. If there is an uneven amount of players, the last name to be pulled out of a hat gets to move on to the next round.

each pair has until Monday Morning to post the results of a best 2 out of 3.

After monday, the winners play a 1 game elimination until we have an overall winner.

to keep things going fast, a simple policy will be made. If you dont show to your match, you are out, if both of you dont show for a match, you are both out.

Match time frames/negotiations will be posted on the forum prior, so if two of you decide on friday night, post in the forums that the two of you will be playing on friday night at X amount of time, so that others can watch and i/we can keep track of the games.

If you think you can't commit, don't, it really is that simple, no need to bag it for the rest of us.

I figure a 2 out of 3 followed by single game matches will maximize on the fun factor for everyone before before we proceed on to gritty part

i also suggest we do random maps, speed will be faster, (or whatever b.net games are run at)

saving replays is encouraged

i want to make it cut throat because every single tourney we have ever made has flopped badly

if we can make 1 star craft tourney work then we can expand from there and be more lax

people just dont seem to care and i hate that.

as for the 2/3 and followed by 1, if the first round is a success then we can do 2/3 for the rest as well

again the main problem is that people simply do not want to comit, even though its like an hour of their time for the whole thing.

if people just want to play and have fun, go right ahead

but if people want a tourney, then thigns DO have to be strict and guidlines followed.

Oh, i also suggest a blacklist of people who dont show up, so people who are a no show are not allowed in tournaments in the future. This is not to say that if something actually came up that needed attention (no spinny came knocking is not one). Also long standing TD members would get preferential treatment, 3 strikes? As some of our CSS tournaments had weird randoms that were no show. Which in that case those should be one strike.
