A lot of TO people keep talking about how great a job he does. I'll have to take your word for it, since I don't live there. Is it not possible, though, that his executive committee is doing most of the heavy lifting while he's off getting blasted? After all, all he really has to do is sign off on the work of his underlings. I skimmed a few headlines that said his underlings are starting to jump ship. It will be interesting to see if he can keep doing such a good job with the city if all his key movers and shakers fuck off on him.
There are bosses out there who like to do shit themselves to make sure it gets done right. There are others who sit back with their thumb up their ass and get a bunch of underlings to do all the heavy lifting while they stroke their cocks and put their name on the final product. I don't work for the guy, so I can't say with any authority, but Rob Ford takes me more as the "Thumb up his ass" type of mayor than the "Do it himself" type of guy. After all, if he was hard at work running the city, then where the fuck would he find the time to smoke rock, get wasted and arm-wrestle with Hulk Hogan?
Seems to me like the guy is just a figure head. If that's the case, then the laurels for all the efficiencies in the city are owed to his staff and not him.
