Tired of the bs

As anyone who plays on the td server can attest, I am not one to give the admins shit, but I think it is time we actually addressed the issue of the quality of the admins, and td members for that matter.

A little background: I play under the handle stoned tire, if you didn't put two and two together, and I have noticed a long trend on the server of subjective rule enforcement, allowing play that ruins the game, and an attitude by many td members that is not conducive to fun game play nor attracting players.

Case and point is the experience I had today of being on a team with two non-td players who refused to leave spawn, stop team bleeding, and disrespected myself and the two other team members, who unfortunately were new to the server and both promptly left after a couple rounds of being overpowered and outgunned in every way. How is it conducive to a good server to allow this game play? After sticking it out on this team, and trying to get everyone to play, have fun, and stop ruining everyone's fun, I am heckled by td members... who have again stacked the winning team.

I'm sorry, but until this issue is addressed, I cannot say that I would ask someone to come play on the td server. It is time to listen seriously to the complaints from the community.

i'm sorry you experienced this tire. i for one, try to balance myself over the losing team when ever i can.

i can't speak for everyone, but even autobalance will switch me back 20 secs later at the end of the round to team i was originally on.

I don't think his main point is about losing because of unbalanced teams. Its funny that when a very active player such as stoned (who some members have even asked him to apply to TD) brings up a valid constructive issue, one of the first responses that gives credit to his argument is "Losing is part of the game. sorry"

Dean is not an admin, nor does he express the view of TD and it's members as a whole on this matter. He can in fact be an idiot and a troll. Definitely NOT what i would call an exemplary member of this community.

Issue at hand: It's unfortunate you are having to experience that on TD Stone Tire. We will definitely look into this matter and get to the bottom of it. I apologize for the inconvenience and i hope you continue to play on our servers.

Thank you guys for taking the time to read this post. I know it is hard when someone complains to find the line between angst and genuine issues. To redirect the conversation, I am not saying that it is bad to be on the losing team. I just think that we need a conversation about the appropriateness of our responses to game play that drives people away from the server. Viewing the admins and td members from outside, I can understand why players are upset about the issues I have brought up, which are allowing people to focus on their own agenda rather than objectives. Whether that agenda is trolling other players, stat whoring/team stacking, or team attacking, the fact of the matter is that when you play on the td server, primarily during the day when the server is not full, you cannot be sure that the game is going to be fun.

I guess we all have gotten a bit lax about that shit latley. I'm just tired of having to constantly stay on top of it. But its equally annoying when people ride my case about not team swapping and being a good admin. We're just people and we make mistakes. Your problem will not go unaddressed by us Stone and I will try to improve shit as best I can.

Thank you 44. Like I told haze, I am not singling anyone out. I do have to say it is shitty of people to give admins a hard time. You guys help us have the game in the first place. That's why I brought this to the server. I knew you guys wouldn't blow me off.

Great that you're bringing this up Stoned Tire. Not much I can do, but I'll try to help out whatever team is losing.

I feel I need to clarify guys. I am not talking about the teams being unfair or people joining the losing team, though I do appreciate it. I am talking about td members treating others poorly when they do not know the person. This kind of behavior is fine when you are talking to a friend, but disrespecting people when you don't know them can easily chase them from the server. People come on the server to play counter strike and have fun, not to be dicked with by someone who is supposed to be upholding the server rules.

losing is part of the game. sorry

Thanks Dean, it's guys like you that represent TD so well, and allow us to grow into an even more awesome gaming community. I am proud you wear the TD tag.

On another note: Stoned Tire - gimmie names. I want names of the people who grieved, and the names of TD players/admins that didn't give a fuck. PM me if you have to.

While we are on the subject, I just want to throw out there that I have always felt that while I enjoy the TD community (most of it anyway) there has always been a handful of people who (specifically a few with admin privileges) who act in very biased manners with the power they have. I think we can all agree that it's been here for years, and maybe in a way its just 'part of td' but i'd be inclined to think 'popularity' - for lack of a better word - determines who is actually punished fairly or unfairly - if at all, or those who receive the very harsh end of a stick for almost nothing.

I'm not going to throw anyone under the bus or anything like that, I just wanted to contribute the idea that TD has always felt like a fun community - if everyone likes you. If you aren't the most popular guy in town, you are subject to either a lack of proper treatment outlined by the rules we are supposed to enforce, and unfairly punished for slip-ups that do occur.

Even if people wont admit it, we all know it goes on, and it shouldn't.
