+1 nice mix of hack and slash and character development is what makes this show so appealing to me. Steve, if the world was consumed by zombies, I'm pretty sure the struggles they are facing would be similar to that if you have a child and a wife. Rick is the good guy, but he's learning to leave that behind and do whatever he has to for his family. He was a cop after all, and you can tell that's always at the back of his mind!
I am talking about the constant and unreal manufactured suspense and drama.
Examples:
1. Ricks wife goes off alone to try and find Rick, Glen, and the Old man. She gets into a car wreck, and almost killed by a zombie.
2. Ricks kid wanders off, plays with a zombie, which gets loose and -------NO SPOILERS---------------
3. Rick saves a kid who was injured(who had been Shooting at them moments before). They then proceed to risk their lives setting him free/imprisoning him now like 3-4 times. Every time risking a member, or risking the location of their haven.
Its all just ridiculous bullshit that would get you killed immediately in a real zombie Apocalypse.
