The 'New Forum Posts' Bar

I hope this is in the right place.

I just wanted to suggest that this may be changed to update in real time.
A bit like the one used on facebook on the right.

This would be very handy seeing as it would be easier and quicker than refreshing my page every time to see any new posts made.

Obviously I don't want the coders to put themselves out or anything so if this is a hard task then I don't mind sticking to refreshing every so often.
Having next to no experience in coding, I wouldn't know how hard it is to do.

Although, if this already updates in real time then I'm sorry.
I've just never witnessed it so either i'm unobservant or it doesn't work for me :P

No, it changes every-time the forums are refreshed, although I would defiantly support a real-time page loader.

It would help track posts as well as see what's hot.

I was also thinking that if it was to be implemented, that there should be a check box that is un-ticked by default.
Just in case there are people that wouldn't want a real-time update on forum posts.
Making it optional instead of forced.

Or maybe checked by default and one of those little hover over '?' saying 'If you do not wish to have this updated in real-time, please uncheck this box'.
Or something similar.

What is your change?
Was it that +1 button at the bottom of posts? or was that someone else?

we are all bout progress and changes. its just that shit aint easy, lol. hard enough to get this bitch working properly as is .

a lot of the newbies around here don't know that we recently rebuilt the entire site and forums from the ground up. Don't thing we need to change something thats only a few months old.

Yeah I appreciate that, which is why this is only a suggestion.
Just something that would make life easier for a few people like myself.

Wow really, you did a nice job.
Well it is a fairly small thing I'm suggesting compared to a whole site change like you said.

Obviously I'm not saying 'I WANT IT NOW!' I'm just making a suggestion :P
