So did I. I was up late watching Star Trek TNG episodes. I got up for the replay of the Bayern - Hertha match, but I slept through it. Too bad, too. Apparently, it was a close one.
I noticed a post that said that Neymar did well in it, which pisses me off. I was pretty horny for Bayern to sign Neymar in the off-season, but since he chose Barcel-homos instead, he can suck a cock and is a dirty, dirty bastard. I'm not a big La Liga fan, to be honest. I enjoy watching leagues here there is some actual parity and competitive spirit, like the Bundesliga. People assume it's not as competitive because Bayern tends to run away with things, but teams like Mainz, Hertha Berlin and Nürnberg surprise Bayern by outplaying them every year.
You can't assume the point differentials in the standings indicate the level of competition because they really don't. I love German footy because almost every team can conceivably beat almost every other team on any given match day, with the exception of that one promoted side who always shits the bed and gets sent back down every season. The only reason that usually happens is because the other top flight clubs buy all their stars up so when they GET to the top division, all the people who helped get them there are now playing against them.
Serie A has really picked up this past season. It's not all snail's pace play and cry babies anymore.

The best thing about rugby, is it's more of a test of ones soul, and really has nothing to do with size.
The hits tend to be a lot "softer", with less direct contact, much less head to head.

I stand by my assertion that the girls play the game the right way (from the U9 level to the professional level) while the men are a bunch of puss-weeds who cry too much and try to cheat their way into victory.
Brazil v Germany was one of the best sports rivalries in the world until the Canada - USA women's soccer rivalry over-shadowed it recently.
To this day, the most emotional game I have ever watched live was still the Women's World Cup final between Germany and Brazil where Nadine Angerer posted clean sheets for the entire tournament, including a saved penalty against the best women's player in the world Marta in the final. (My German flag still bears the stains of the beer I spilled on it when she made that save)
Then, the rematch at the Beijing Olympics Semi-finals was the most brutal and vicious display of football goonery I have ever seen. And it was a women's match. The refs, to the credit, let them play through it, which is the way the game SHOULD be played.
The men's game being full of pussies is as much FIFA / the Officials fault as it is the player's. After all, if the refs had the stones to card dives more frequently and FIFA was quicker to stand behind them and support it, then the players would adapt to the officiating and the diving would be eliminated. Unfortunately, in men's footy there are too many criers. The coaches cry, the players cry, the leagues cry, and the powers that be capitulate.
As ever in this world, being held hostage to other people's feelings doesn't do anyone any favours.
I tried to find vids but all I could find was Angerer's save on Marta, which doesn't mean much if you don't watch the whole game.

They lost in the national finals her first round through, but she cracked some chick so fucking hard she lost hearing. the canada coaches noticed her, recognized her name, and now I think they going to pick her to play Canada.

No, I just find there's a lot less diving and a lot more playing through from the women than the men. They play the game it's supposed to be played and get on with it rather than crying and making excuses.
