I would like to extend a holiday thank you to all for the work the membership and regulars have put in over the course of the past month. We have tackled a lot of issues recently with the server move, Valve updates, and the revival of BC2 service. We've hit some rocky patches, but when it came down to it everyone pulled together.
I specifically want to applaud everyone for the STELLAR job with getting the servers populated (admittedly after a rough start) on a regular basis. I checked Game Tracker this morning and we've pushed BC2 up to the #6 Canadian based server and the new CSS server up to the #3 server in under a month. I think this is no small feat and says great things about the resiliency of this community.
I frequently find myself thinking of all the opportunities and work that lay ahead of us. I personally hope we can do more to consolidate providers to reduce costs (and expand selection) in the next year. I'm sure that doesn't sound fun or mean much to the majority of you, but I crave challenge. I hope that we might revive TF2, tweak our CSS scrim server, create a real World of Warcraft component that is part of the overall community, and potentially expand into new games. I know Buckshot Jr and iCe are working on changes to our recruitment and admin system which will hopefully go into effect next year.
If anyone has some ideas for the community in 2011 I highly encourage you to reach out to a member of the BHA, one of the senior admins, or myself.
Sorry for the long rambling post, but you are all awesome*!
I'm looking forward to tackling new challenges and opportunities in 2011 with you. GAME ON!
