Even through all of this I have to - rep him still. Sorry, Cmp and Stan, but I've played with this guy many times before (being on #1 so often), and generally he seems nice. However, it wasn't until he posted an app that he was. Before, if I recall, some player (the name of which I can't recall) had in fact COMPLAINED to me about him. He had a little bit of an attitude, as well. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the name kinda stuck with me.

Hm.. I friended him on Steam, and he seems really nice. He said "Wow. Great job man!" when I told him that I got my report card back and it was full of A's. I think you need to be nice to him for him to be nice to you. Oh, also, +1, you are pretty nice Stan. :)

+1, you are pretty nice Stan. :)
Remember, just because an applicant is nice does not mean they will make a good Mod and if this was the case 90% of the applicants would be accepted.

I concur with 14bux and will keep my -1 for Stan also considering the fact that heonly has a total of 16 connects and still does not meet the required time but really it is not so much as to that the requirement is not met, it is more so of a lack in opportunity to get to know you, to see how you react on the servers to situations. I personally do not think you have been around enough to fully grasp and understand the community to the fullest. If it wasn't for that long term 2 month gap of inactivity you would not have even met the 1 month requirement. Your chat logs have been a little sketchy as well with the whole impersonation thing that Tick Tock Man brought about but I do believe you have learned your lesson. I will point out that it is great how you fluctuate between servers, I will give you that much but it does not out weight everything else.

Maybe in 3 months; not yet.

I will not attempt to make you change your mind, but I ask that you consider one more thing.

People have bad days. It happens to all of us. If I may direct your attention to this thread:
http://darklygaming.com/forum/threads/ban-request-infectedmushr00m-saxman-the-virgin-slayer.10782/

The first user that was reported, InfectedMushr00m was being abusive to anyone and everyone. Generally just a bad environment around this guy. Until I added him. That was actually the first time I added a troublemaker to get their side and it worked pretty well. Infected is now labelled as Kosseuth on my friends list and he's a big help. He's alerted me to a hacker and a few micspammers and although he can get a little overzealous with it, he's a very helpful person to have on my friends list.

Do I have any reservations about Stan being given a shot? Yes, I told him that the whole impersonation thing was not doing him any favors, but I feel satisfied that he's learned from that. I had a couple other reservations (can't recall them), but they overshadowed by his maturity and willingness to learn.

My point is that although players have their bad days, given a chance, they can impress you. I think Stan can do the same, which is why I continue to support him. As I said, I'm not attempting to force you to support his app, but rather trying to illustrate that given a chance, people can improve significantly.

Tick Tock asked me if I know Stan outside of Darkly, and I truthfully responded No. We are actually on opposite sides of the country. I haven't even met Stan ingame, but he seems like a sensible guy with a good head on his shoulders. I've gotten a sense for who could make a good/bad Mod (in my opinion), and I can't recall being wrong yet. That's all I'm saying =)

I completely respect that argument, Cmp™. I've had many bad days myself. However, (and I'm in no position to judge apps) applicants should not have to be incentivized or pushed by their app to become a better person. From past time I'd spent with him, I didn't see the right attitude that a leader should show. As you said, I'm not forcing you to change your opinion, I just want you to see my perspective.

14bux Before I had submitted my application I had been nice. However, there have been days where I can honestly admit that I had acted with an attitude...I also think that this applies to everyone. Yes, a lot of you are very nice and give a lot of help but that does not mean that you're all angels and have never had a bad day. I'm not pointing fingers at anyone I'm just saying that everyone has their bad days which is what Cmp™ had stated earlier. I also don't think it's right to simply assume something about someone right away. If someone had a bad day I would definitely think to myself why this is but I certainly would not consider them a bad person. If you get to know me you will see that I am actually a very nice person. This goes for anyone. You are all welcome to add me on Steam and shoot me a few messages. I am very outgoing and love to discuss many topics. As for Tick Tock Man, yes I can see now where you are coming from thanks to Cmp™ explaining it to me, but I certainly did not intend to impersonate anyone and it was a valiant learning experience.

HappySticks™ I have a total of 67 connects. You are also free to talk to me on Steam whenever you feel like it and I am usually server hopping to meet new people but also see what is going on so I am continually taking in new information about the community.

There is a difference between the connects we are talking about.
You have the individual connects that you mentioned or the connects I am talking about; 1 is counted per day when you connect for the first time in that day and they can be found under "Sessions" on your stat profile page.
I believe the individual 67 can become null in void as they do not mean much considering you could connect an infinite times per day technically.
I have like 1,000 individual connects but only 180 are counted.

You said it yourself, we cannot get to know you right away, stick around for awhile and then myself along with some others may be able to support your application for Mod; hopefully. It is not that I do not want to support you and am only in here to criticize, I just cannot at the moment if that makes sense.

Osf's ban really doesn't have anything to do with this and the "impersonation" issue was cleared up a while ago.

I'd prefer this not turn into an argument, but let me just be clear that Osf's behavior does not have any bearing on this application.

People have good days and people have bad days. Get to know them on both before you make a personal judgement.

Regardless of whether you are impersonating someone or not, you should not be threatening to ban or kick anyone unless it is extremely clear you are joking.

Julian I understand that and it was a simple misunderstanding. Regardless, it won't happen again. I can promise you that.

I would like to take some time to say how good Stan is, I was recently on a server and someone was dropping very racial word, Stan took in his power instantly to handle the issue and to talk to me and make sure things were back to normal, He is a very funny/smart man. It takes a lot to make me laugh and have a good time and he some how got me to laugh he's a very good man, not lazy about taking actions into hand. Thanks Stan for being a good Pal :D
