It does help, not everyone leaves and just fucks around until more people start joining, when I got back last night there was 12 players, got it up to 32 within 30 mins and atleast 20 by the time I left (1AM).

Spec doesnt always help, but very often it does. So it doesn't hurt to try, nothing to lose. Plus once the server reaches 30 players, it starts to kick AFKs. So if you spec, you will be booted once the server fills up which works out in the end.

Just a quick note, the engy update is out today and this weekend TF2 will be on sale for $? cheap I heard. Anyways, more people will be playing so if you can help by going spec to get the server going please do.
On a side note, ever since the Tuesday update I have only been able to play for 10 mins before it crashes. I believe I fixed it by running it in a window instead of full screen, if anyone else is having problems add this to your command line,
-window -noborder -novid
Looks the same as fullscreen, plus you can actually alt-tab out if your doing other things like writing on here

I write on here via steam browser. Their new browser works flawlessly unlike the old one, so i dont have to get out of game, unless some of my hoes message me on MSN, then i dont have a choice.

It's not a bad idea either. I heard a few ppl in game yesterday make a comment like "why do ppl let the server go over 24 players". It wouldnt hurt to try and see if it actually attracts more players, because some people dont like the clusterfuck feeling. And in Shortbus' case, it wouldnt slow down his game since he has a century old computer.
