Why do you want to join Toronto Darkly? I have been around here for quite some time (granted some time away for finishing university), have talked with people that are hilarious, people that are supportive of each other in their goals (real life and otherwise), and even some people I didn't get along with perfectly (but hey, welcome to the world)... regardless, all of these people have come together to keep this great thing called Darkly going, and I would love to be more involved and really, let's say, jump down the rabbit hole. It's the reason I've donated in the past when I had steady work and plan to again soon, because it's a great place I can rely on to go play a few rounds of CS, or find out answers to questions i have, or have interesting debates and conversations. And mostly, everyone just seems to be pretty fuckin chill for the most part.
I've play competitively for =000=, and for MiL in the ol' days... =000= fell apart eventually because people took shit too seriously, and MiL fell apart because no one took anything seriously. I feel like there's a good balance of both here, which is essential.
I also have some skills that I feel could be useful, such as writing/proofreading (english, not code), like if you say, "hey, can you write an article about _________ to use on the website?", that's something I can do and usually enjoy. Also I play around on CS:GO enough that eventually I think I could work up to admin.
Anyway, I've been thinking of doing this for some time, and always decided to wait longer and hang around (like you end up telling most people), but then a new callout for applications went up on the Announcements and I figured, "what the hell. the time is now." So... yeah. See you on the battlefield.
YES/NO Questions:
Do you have a minimum of 6 months on the server with at least 200 hours of play? If you count the CS:S server, then yes. Haven't spent as much time on the CS:GO server as I was finishing my university degree this past year, although now I'm back in the swing.
Are you active on the forums? Yes
Do you have a mic? Yes, although I could probably get a better one.. or better headphones. Either would work.
Are you in good standing with the community? So far as I know. Had a few disagreements in the Serious F'n Business section, but I think that's to be expected.
Are you at least 18 years of age? Yes.
