Success... CS:S on 64-bit Linux

I got it working today and played a few rounds, pretty well too I managed to plant bomb and shot some heads. Still needs to be tweaked a bit but the fact that it didn't crash randomly is a positive start at least. Rumours are abound that Valve may be adding native support for Linux with the release of CS:GO, and it would be right on time since nVidia now offers native driver support and there is a wealth of drivers also available for lots of other shit. I just bought a new printer and it looks like HP is also on board with Linux.

I deffo recommend if you've ever been curious about Linux to give it a shot, you will not regret it. I'm not a Linux fanboy, I tried it once before and gave up and Windows has always run smoothly for me, but now with all my hardware configured on Linux I find myself booting into Windows less and less. It's plain and simply better: more intuitive, more customizable, sexier and fiercer than Windows (or Mac) ever was or is. If you can't live without DX11 though, better dual-boot and keep Windows around for gaming. For everything else, Linux fucks shit up.

It's actually a LOT better than Windows if you have the patience to learn how to install and configure stuff from a terminal prompt. That can get to be a pain in the ass with the constant kernel updates of Linux fucking shit up and having to learn about all the options of a program just to be able to install an app that will read the pdf waiting for you in your inbox. The benefit of the work is that a) once you learn it, it gets easier and you can accomplish more, and b) it doesn't cost you money. The more I get KDE configured, the more I'm able to just get shit done through the GUI like I do entirely with Windows, except that there are more options open to me than with Windows which only lets you double-click, hit Ok or Cancel.
