unfortunetly now, we race outside of the GTA, the following are some of the ractracks
east:
Mosport International Raceway and Mosport DDT (smaller, ex-go-kart track), this is in Bowmanville, about 1 hour drive from Torono
Shannonville Racetrack, located in.. Shannonville, about 2 hours by the 401.
then you have one very close to Ottawa, called Calabogie Raceway, and two major ones in Quebec; Autodrome St.Eustache and Mt.Tremblant Raceway
West of the city you will find two major ones,
Toronto Motorsport Park (TMP), they have both a drag strip and a circuit course, and Dunnvile Autodrome. Both are located south of Hamilton just in slightly different directions. (Caygua and Dunnville respectively)
Thats about it for Ontario.
There is some hopeful talks of one day converting the Downsview airstrip into a racetrack... but i dont think that would ever fly with the city, so they park mass produced GM cars there instead at the moment :/
There is also a lesser sport known as "autoslalom" (remember our names are different from the States),
Autoslalom, is Autocross is X-Cross, basically a "race track" laid out using pylons in an empty parking lot. However i am biased and wont say much of this because its just silly compared to driving on an actuall race track.. for one thing you'll be hard pressed to ever even hit 4th or even 3rd gear in autocross :/
but yeah..get a car and drop me a line, we have a school event in may that we highly recomend to everyone, and then 8-10 events during the season, held on weekends.
