back in the classic days i got a fendazon up to like 68 in ladder, fun shit.
expansion made the game an even bigger one button click kill all routine than the original, still fun though.

You couldn't possibly been the best back in the day at SC because I was. I was CaNTGeTaSTaR and had a record of 7-725(ish)-11 , yes that actually equates to 3.5 stars...of my 700 some odd losses, they were really mostly wins, but back then records in SC meant nothing as you could've played "7v1 comp stomps" and had an amazing record but couldn't play worth a shit! hence i would quit after I rape my opponents. My 7 wins were all 1v3's where I raped the opposing team that was talking shit after taking out my teammates. Yes, I was *that* good.
EDIT: anyone here play WC3:TFT? I'll own you in that too as Orc. :)

the WC3 concept of the "hero" unit never quite sat well with me

The hero thing was ok...if you played it right, it can be the gamebreaker. I like the upkeep system so that you would have to micro manage your units rather than build up to 200/200 units before attacking :)
I just harass with my hero while I built up, and then attack. If that didn't kill you, then you're surely crippled and wouldn't be able to withstand my next attack. Simple. Elegant. And even if you knew what I was going to do, chances are you can't stop me

WC3 went from a RTS game to essentialy a "3rd person FPS" where your "army" is just fodder for your hero's
i remember one time TWO masks of vampiric embrace (or something) dropped and i put them both on my lvl 10 BM, 100% leech
