Like the way that you're thinking Xil, 'cept some of those are 7.1 cards (he has 5.1 speakers) and might as well use NewEgg.ca for Canadian prices since he's in Canada.
That said, the Asus Xonar DG 5.1 at $25.99 CDN is a great buy, here's the Asus offerings for PCI and PCI-E

Xonar all the way. I don't own one (I use built-in at the moment), but I've tested/used them in other systems I've helped friends build and man are they ever great.

Creative does a good job of making good sound cards at reasonable prices. Not the best, but always a good option to consider.

Yes, but also no.
Good hardware, shiite software/drivers.

Somewhere in the last year or two, Asus sound cards have take over the bang for the buck and gaming categories, and have some success in the audiophile category too. Kind of makes sense, with their mobo success. It's to the point one PC reviewer said "buy the ASUS sound card in your price point" ... should dig that up if I wasn't lazy :)
