Prop, I haven't ever seen the teams balance because of win/loss ratio. I've put in about 30-35 hours on the server in the last 20 days or so, and I've only seen it balance using the number of players to be honest.
I do agree with forcing people to auto assign to team. It's probably the best balancing method I've seen in my 10+ years of playing CS and the script for team balancing becomes more of a backup in the rare case the teams are completely unbalanced. I personally always auto assign. If you don't want to play both sides, then it means you're just trying to get an advantage for ranking.
*edit* I auto assign even though id rather use an ak over any gun!

I think there is opportunity to tweak the plugin some Prop. I've seen massive imbalances that aren't accounted for within 2 rounds (12 vs 7 comes to mind).
I'll have to play around and do some reading before I can offer a real suggestion. Hopefully I can do that when I get off work.
I definitely don't recommend forcing auto balance. Sometimes I like to play on the same team with certain people so I can talk to them (I know vent is sometimes an option).

I prefer T side also, but you know, for maps like office T has an advantage. That's why I think auto assign is a very viable solution. If an admin does switch someone around, all they can do is auto assign. Not having the choice to pick your team kind of forces stackers to sit and tough it up like most do.

Hey man, i play more and have more kills than half of TD members. I just play at different hours than you guys. Don't be hating on a brother just because YOU don't see him. Anyways, lots of valid points about the TB. Members need to be held accountable too. It is part of the rules. Just because no admin is on, doesnt mean they cannot switch to balance the teamns.

Auto asign can be easilly beat. Auto asign goes only based on how many players a team can have. I can just wait until CTs are 1-2 players more and then join T ...

Example - I'm on T for 3-4 maps and we are getting pwded every map. We finally switch to Office, join T side like usuall and we are finally owning. Are you telling me to join CT side so I can get pwded again without enjoying at least one map of nice playing?

I think the biggest issue are the stats. People tend to switch to the stronger side so their stats go up. Remove stats ... a part of the problem will be solved.

Not at all bro. Since someone already brought up a name *demarcio* I will use him as an example. He always favours the side which has an advantage, and it's not because he won't do well on the other side, but because he won't do as well and he's trying to always up his rank.
I know you're always playing T 35, I noticed it and that's not an issue at all. You don't join CT when you know the map is in their favour, you stick with T all the way and that's cool! I want to always play T, but I have the habit of selecting auto assign and wherever I end up being is where I stay, until an admin switches me *cough* BJ *cough*.
I don't know you Hawk Eye, but you were not here about 5 years ago when things were very different from what they are now. Sometimes you'd voice a concern and get slaughtered in a nasty wall of flaming, and I play here to have fun and get to know the community, most of which are new to me! I used to be TD and admin back then and ended up leaving for issues affecting the community which the senior admins are probably aware of. I had enough problems to deal with in my life to want to add to when I logged on to have some fun in CS!
I can honestly say, the way TD is now is what I wished it was 5 years ago! I'm glad to have come back: too much fun to pass out on :P
Bottom line is I just made an observation in general. I'm not pointing fingers or saying it's a disaster and that the server fails. It's obvious to me the people who have maintained TD in the last 5 years know what they are doing. From the perspective of someone knowing how the old TD was run, to how it is today, I can tell how much work and effort were put into it, so kudos to all those who contributed!

Thanks for the kind words Abdul! We rebelled and took over in Sept 2008. And ever since, TD has been running better than it ever did. We have a solid team of leaders, but most importantly, we have solid members and admins, and without their support, none of this would have been possible.

But we gotta look at MOST OF THE TIME (that's key, cause we're not always around, I understand that) no one's there to balance.
To put it all in perspective - the admins mentioned here versus the whole list of admins - you figure the ratio of active admins doing their job and helping out versus admins who don't. I'm not saying anything else, take a look for youselves. THAT'S what I mean to point out. Nothing personal on anyone's behalf.
