My neighbourhood has filthy fucking power and random flash brownouts, so I was forced to buy a UPS to keep my 5 drives from eating shit at random to CRC errors. I ended up getting this sick beast

learned two things doing the research:
1) APC ships an unacceptable amount of DOA/fucked-up units
2) a lot of cheaper UPS don't have pure sine wave output, which makes them useless with power supplies that have active PFC (Power Factor Correction), which most quality PSUs nowadays do use.
So if you're in the market for a UPS, stay away from APC and make sure your unit is pure sine wave output with adequate wattage or you might be in for some headaches
