Okay so I'm gonna play some half life 2, havent really played much figured I'd try it out! And when I go into it, it isnt fit to my screen properly I have a Nvidia geforce 8600 and this lil balloon told me to click something the other day and things on my screen looked a lil better but now the stuffs all whacky, It use to fit normally on my screen how do I play with it fitted properly

Nope it was from the video card thing I was messing around with stuff with the help of leon and then this lil balloon popped up, everything else is awesome just the fitting if i could only remember what button I pushed <--- I WAS STONED WHEN THIS HAPPENED!! DANGNAMIT!

Try going into options -> video settings and messing around with ther esolution. if that doesnt help then try unistalling it and reinstalling it.

Mmm...

1) Is your Windows resolution, etc. ok? Nothing distorted? If your Windows is ok then go to #2, otherwise #3

2) When you started HL2, is there an options where you can change your resolution? (You may have to change your aspect ratio first which may or may not be one of the options available to you -- I'm at work right now :P). If so, does that fix it? If not, go to #4

3) If your Windows isn't right, then go to www.nvidia.com and download the latest driver for you video card. Once it's installed you may have to go in to your nVidia Settings again (right-click anywhere on your desktop and click "NVIDIA Control Panel" to set your resolution again). And then proceed with #2.

Hailey- if its when HL2 starts and it doesn't open centered on your screen..set the default resolution to something else. You can do this by editing the launch properties of the game with -w #### -h ####

She got the latest driver last night. Leon walked her through downloading them from nvidia and installation. It's either the desktop resolution, or HL2 resolution.

1 ) Right-click anywhere on your desktop (not on an icon), click on "NVidia Control Panel"

2 ) Once in the NVidia Control Panel, look for "Resolution & Scaling" on the left-hand panel.

3 ) Once the "Res and Scaling" menu is open, make sure NVidia scaling technology is turned off (as this will ensure Windows/games will determine what resolution and scaling your computer will use).
