Seeing what others think about some of the mods

This post is to test the waters to see what other members think, I understand that I am new to these parts so I am not looking to over step my place, just throwing ideas out there! If this has already been discussed or these mods have already been proven to be the best than feel free to tell me to f off :)

I understand that it’s difficult to run a server properly and still have fun in game when you’re an admin since you want to play instead of babysitting, so I know mods like the ff and team balance and sm come in handy for this purpose, but I was wondering if there was a wayto change/tweak on how a few of these work?

FF- is great to play with it makes you think of what you are doing and adds that bit of realism to the game but it seems to be a bit harsh that if you shoot someone (say if they get in your way or your trying to help them) and they have 2 hp and you have 100 that your slayed automatically. I was wondering if it’s possible (not sure how much sm lets you change things) to tweak the mod so you only receive the damage that you gave. If you are tked the server already allows you to punish the player so if it was really stupid move that got you tked then you can still slay but at least you have the choice to forgive ie last 2 cts die because of ff while trying to defuse the bomb.

Team Swap- I understand the need for this my only concern is when your swapped and you get stuck with another player. Your usually swapped for 2 reasons 1 you are doing good and the mod thinks you’ll help the losing team or 2 you are not doing good so your moved to the winning team to make room on the losing team. Either way getting stuck defeats the purpose, good players can’t help at all and players that are doing bad are just going to do worse. And yes if an admin’s around they might have time to slap you but usually there’s more than 1 group stuck so this doesn’t always work and there’s no guarantee that there will be one on. Worse case I’ve seen and was a part of was on egons world in one round 12 players were stuck and on that map I was stuck 8 times! lol so it’s not like I was much help to the team I was swapped too! I’m not sure exactly what can be done for this mod but that’s why I’m posting to get ideas.

FF only slays you if you attack your teammate in the first 10 or so seconds of the round. TK's do happen in the fray. This is just setup that way so that greifers can't get away with killing everyone in spawn at the start of each round when their trying to kill the server. After the 10 seconds wear off, your damage gets halved and reflected instead. it's been that way for a long time and i haven't seen anyone say anything about it until now.

hmm now im not sure if its reflected or slapped, but there's no way your bullets do 100% damage to teammates.

Im not sure if we're answering your questions either, holy.

The FF has been around for awhile, the dmg taken I think is halved of what u put out, not necessarily 10 dmg slaps (not 100%). The team swapping sometimes does have a mind of its own, as I've been switched at every score ratio imaginable ;)

WHen you attack a teammate, you're slapped for 10 HP. So every bullets does 10 HP -> 2 bullets, 20 HP, 3 bullets, 30 HP, etc etc.
So if you have 25 hp and shoot 3 bullets to a teamates, you'Re slayed for sure.

inless im cracked out (which happens :D ) when you tk someone it slaps you for 10hp which is fine my problem is if im at 100hp throw a nade into a site and kill a teammate who had 2hp i get slayed regardless of there choice,if they want to be a douch bag they can also slay me again the next round.

As much as I agree with this post, it won't change. Some people just think the teamswap is necessary... I personally can't stand it as it just stacks teams/sticks people together in spawn etc. But.. whatever...

The FF on the other hand is great. I think it's good that you take dmg you deal, it makes for great gameplay.

The mod isn't that configurable as far as slapping for team attacking. We've all been there when you throw a nade and your teammate chases it like a retriever and dies. It stinks, but its a small price to pay for keeping chaos from running supreme.

Team Swap- kind of necessary unless there are a lot of active admins that can manually swap players..there needs to be some sort of balance measure

Damage Reflect/Slap- dumb. Especially with a 32 slot, so many people run into others firing, chase nades etc. There shouldn't be any slap/reflect. Worst case if someone actually TKs you could give the killed player the option to forgive/slay or something like that. If someone's intentionally team attacking consistently/recklessly warn/kick/ban.
