He took us for a long ride, the torture is finally over. I was personally out celebrating by going to shinny hockey in light of this event. I think Toronto should have a parade tomorrow, best thing to happen to the leafs in a long time and it's not like we are ever going to get a parade for the Stanley Cup.

Cock has a point, but the team may not have enjoyed Ron, so bringing in a new coach could impose a better attitude towards their performance.

lol:clap: Typical leafs die hard, WE BEAT THE WORST TEAM IN THE EASTERN CONFERENCE AND WE'RE SOOOOO AWESOME!!

The firing of Wilson was done to appease the paying fans. You can't ignore the people and expect to get paid after. Buuuut even saying that, Randy Carlyle is a much better Coach then Ron Wilson but can't polish a turd.

lol when it comes to game between the habs and the buds its never about the standings man its an original six matchup you could put a bunch of no ones and it still be passionate and die hard and true ron wilson couldnt even polish the turd under his eye over there lol

how much can a coach really do in hockey? Its not like they are running plays. All the coach does is change the lines. the players are the ones that suck

That's if you think Boston and New York are still the perennial powerhouses they have been. I don't believe they are, Boston could finish behind the Orioles this year. That clubhouse is fucked, and Bobby Valentine's colour commentary isnt gonna fix shit. AND Bobby Jenks was arrested for DUI yesterday, it's already started with them.

hey, and as Cherry says. Kadri's got those magic hands, but that's Burke's fault he hasn't been up here, not the coach's.

The Rays are still a highly under-rated club, and though the Orioles are improving as a young talent ball club always will, the Yankees will buy their way into the first place spot in the division, and even with the 2 team playoff, the Jays have WAY too many questions in their lineup to go the distance.

They don't have the depth to challenge over the entire season. Bautista is a monster, and they do have a lot of solid role players, but they have question marks at Left Field with this Travis Snider vs Eric Thames nonsense, J.P. Arencibia isn't THAT great a catcher, and the bullpen is still an arm or two away from being able to make the postseason.

The BoSox may be dysfunction junction, but they are also a veteran bunch with more baseball IQ than the Jays hope to have, and they also have the deep pockets to invest in what they need to make the post-season if they need it. The Jays are still a tough sell for most key players, and unless they miracle a pitcher out of SOMEONE, I think they have holes in the outfield and a the bullpen needs one veteran ace in order to make it that far.

As for Kadri, I don't agree with Don Cherry very often, but Kadri is the best player the Leafs have, and he isn't playing for them. Maybe they want to spare him the bullshit of the TO job (keeping in mind that you play against the opposite team on Game Nights when you're a Leaf, and against the media and the retarded bipolarity of the fan base the rest of the time. Hockey fans in general are delusional, obsessive and far too quick to over-react and blow the tiniest of things out of proportion, but in no fan base is this more apparent than in Leaf Land.)

I have a joke that explains this situation a little better, but it's a long story joke, so I'll skip to the punchline.

"And then the O.P.P. officer says "Sorry, but usually when I look underneath a Leafs' hat, I see an asshole."

Kadri was a nub,
getting caught off side alot, going forward when he should be defending or changing. He was just a totall noob.
Magic Hands or not kid needed to learn some basics, but he's clearly done that now. Good on him for fucking up Brodeur he's come along way.

Ron Wilson is a good coach, dude just had alot of pressure on him and a shitty team. Coach change did shit all this year, watch next year NJ style-trap bullshit boring-as-fuck-hockey here we come. I really hope I'm wrong on that :(

yeah, but at least he has tangible, "i can see it" skill. tell me who else on this team, with the exception of Grabovski (maybe) and Kessel/Lupul who have skills you can actually see? i'm with you on wilson, carlyle will be here for another year or two at least, so you all can enjoy watching them play, because i won't watch a single game. enjoy the 1-0 awesomeness.

I disagree so bad on J.P., it's not even funny. The kid is a stud, he's gonna have the homers from last year, plus the batting average now this season. Mark my words. He needs some serious work on the defensive end, but I'm not big on that, i'd rather have him have a real solid grasp on the pitching staff, which he does, especially at the tail end of last year, you could tell him and Ricky were just in-sync. And I also think the depth at catcher in this organization is so deep right now, J.P. will have to keep on his toes. Left Field, I'm a big Eric Thames guy, I think Snider is gone, especially since A.A. sent him down yesterday... it's better this way, I think Snider will flop, with the exception of maybe playing in the AL/NL West. It's better for Travis to tear it up in AAA and the Jays to get decent pieces, ESPECIALLY if we're in the thick of things in July/August.

And the bold part, I think the only two markets I've seen like this in hockey is here, and Vancouver. Yeah, Bruins guys love their team, Rangers guys love their team, but Toronto and Vancouver take that shit to the next, next level. And it's so fucking sad and ironic, because the crowds are generally anything BUT passionate.

. Mark my words. He needs some serious work on the defensive end, but I'm not big on that

The small ball artists who will run on him all day long and exploit that defensive weakness are big on that. While having a strong relationship with your pitchers is important, can he keep them in the game when he's got speed on first running on him all the time and making him look foolish? The indirect route to getting in the pitcher's head is to get in his catcher's head. When you've got young arms and a young catcher, you're showing an awful lot of inexperience at a key position.

If Big Bats won World Series, then the Tigers and the Bo Sox would be winning on the regular. It takes more than that to make it to the Big Game, and the Jays are moving in the right direction, but just don't have the depth and the seasoning yet to make it.

Besides the fact that they are two injuries away from being a write off, unless the entire AL have massive injury problems, the Jays aren't gonna make the playoffs this season barring a huge move in the trade market.
