You can use more than two drives with RAID 0 if I am not mistaken, but doesn't it increase the likelihood of failure with the more disks in the array?

RAID 0 with 4 drives sounds pretty dumb to be honest.

my girl wants to get me something around $300 for christmas, what should i get ? i was thinking a 2nd gpu, but dual gpu is so fail. now im thinking about getting another ssd. get 2 more 40GB drives($200) and use them with the 2 i already have and do a crazy ass 4 drive raid0 for a 160gb total????

I don't think there is generally a limitation (besides interface slots). I think it would be foolhardy to go with RAID0 on 4 drives especially with SSD.

Buy a 2nd GPU, a new chair/desk, a 2nd monitor or something like that. Honestly sounds like you're pretty maxed on hardware.
