knifing should not be encouraged
knifing should be a last resort weapon
knifing should only get you reputation points
+HP makes you harderd to kill, most bursts are 3-4 bullets (depending on player), that is not enough to kill someone with more than 100 HP
an AK headshot cant kill someone with 130 hp
any pistol is going to be near useless vs someone with so much health
MP5 already requires like 6-7 bullets to kill someone, now it will need around 10 unless aim for the head.
on the old TD ive had people knife me while i was shooting point blank with an AK and they didnt die, THATS NOT RIGHT.
the game was designed for 100 HP, weapon damage and hit tables were balanced for it, so no, do not give health to knifers.

if I'm running head on against someone, chances are I'll have some HP taken off of me during the assault, and very quite often the gained HP doesn't even get me back up to 100. If I flanked a group, I'm actually giving some of the members a chance to survive by quickly picking up on the fact that someone behind them just got knifed. Had I been using a, say, P90 instead, I could've just mowed them all down -- so hey, why not ban the P90 instead then?

getting shot also impedes movement so MP5 will win vs a head on knife rusher majority of the time. don't believe me? i'm welcome to experimentation: i get an MP5, you get a knife, and you rush at me with our HPs varied.

it's incentives -- just like giving money to the losing team. why give out money if the game wasn't designed to have money given? oh and if you lobby to get rid handing out free money, I really could care less as it won't change my playing style.

i only want money so that i can buy an AK/M4, my preferred weapons, the rest is icing.
there are plenty of people that are more proficient with deagles, scouts, and SMG's than me.
counter-strike in a way is supposed to represent realism, walking around like a terminator is not part of that, you're not supposed to be able to rush someone shooting in your face, who brings a gun to a knife fight?
you tried to knife me sooo many times Narf, your success rate against me is very low. You would do much better if you just SHOT me out of whatever hiding spot you were in.
A mod such as this, will only give more incentive knife-happy idiots to not follow objectives and dick around for a knife kill.

While I agree that it might initially start a knifing frenzy, it's not going to be that big nor will it last long. This is because:
1) probably 90% of the people who knife now at somewhat regularly, do so because of my rampage back on the old server so they've already been converted. bringing back the knife syphon mod would bring the nostalgia of the good 'ol knifing days along with it :)
2) those who *try* to be CSS knifers will quickly come to the realization that "
MG WTF!? HOW COME HE DIDN'T DIE?! I KNIFED HIM! THIS IS BS! IF IT WAS COD4, YOU'D BE DEAD!" and then promptly give up because it lowers their KPD
3) relating back to point #1, i think most of us know to go for objectives as to not disrupt the gameplay as much as possible

me having an AK in my hands vs a glock or mp5 increases my teams potential to win
you having more HP increases your potential to knife more people, but has zero impact on your teams ability to rush or protect objectives (countless times i team shoot some dick trying to knife an opponent, then they yell at me for a) shooting them and b) "taking their knife kill" :|
