Ok so they released the H1N1 vaccine in Alberta today. They had 4 clinics in Calgary, I heard 2500 people lined up at one clinic there, 6 hour wait. So the hypochondriacs and those that believe the media all run down there at once, somewhat chicken little, screaming that the sky is falling. My wife was going to go with our 16 month old today, I myself have never had a flu shot in my life, of course she was hounding me to go get a shot too. I have looked into this quite extensively, the latest research is showing this is no worse than seasonal flu, and remember it's not the flu that kills you, it's generally a secondary infection, liken pneumonia.

http://www.thenewamerican.com/index.php/usnews/health-care/1901-h1n1-swine-flu-death-rate-is-low

Anyway I have convinced my wife that I think it's a bad idea, I know 4 or 5 folks who already had swine flu, including my boss who was in Mexico on business a few weeks back and came home with a flu, which was 99% swine flu. What are your thoughts people?

I'ma have to stay on the fence on this one. I have read a bit about some of the dangers that the vac. can have. I AM NOT A RELIABLE RESOURCE; THIS COULD BE BULLSHIT k? kay: So I guess the vaccination was made by a company called BAXTER within about a week. Now BAXTER is a company that made the original vaccine for the swine flu scare back in 1976(?). I guess that the vaccine was tested on several children, and all the tested children ended up getting autism(which sounds pretty ridiculous) or some other neurological problem. NOW several doctors are stepping forward about the vac. and how it could cause more harm than good to your body (These doctors of course are all out of American. If they were right, do you think they would want us to know?) There are many people that believe this to be true, and think it is some population control plan. Those same people think the world is going to end everyday though. Me, personally, considering that the swine flu is not that lethal, I will not be getting a vaccination.

TL;DR(LAZY FUCKER): Vaccine bad, so no.

Prop, I completely agree with your line of thinking. I kid you not, I swear to christ the media just invents this shit. Last time I was in vegas, it was all over the TV.

I have had a flu shot before, although I do believe that immuniziation works, I think the mass effort to control germs, diseases, etc, is lowering our immune systems and setting us up for some serious catastrophe (a true superflu)

Me myself, I don't use aspirin for headaches, I don't eat halls for a sore throat, I rarely use antibiotics for infection (I actually got a bad ear infection this past summer, I had to take something, I wasn't able to beat it)

Yeah, anyways, there ya go, my opinion. I'm NOT going for the swine flu shot. shit, you have a higher chance of catching the flu by surrounding yourself with the 2500 or so people waiting in line.

I'm not. I already got the flu this year and my body battled it very well, I was over most of it in 3 days. I'm not worried about H1N1, its killed like 12 people in Minnesota. With over six million people in Minnesota.. I am not worried.

I have read a little and heard from people who travel that there is some adverse side affects,And kids are highly affected by these side affects. But like you said this strain in rotation is not deadly. so i am not worrying about it.

http://rense.com/general87/vaccin.htm

this a list of shit a doc compiled that will reduce the side affects on your body.

No swine flu thank you..

yea I still need to read up more on it tonight. I work in a hospital...and I was asking some nurses today if they were going to get it, and most of them said no.

vaccination does not cause autism. the theory is that the mercury used in an antibacterial preservative that is placed in the solution MIGHT increase the chances of autism. autism is generally thought to be genetically caused (the main evidence being that something like three or four times males are affected than females), but scientists still aren't sure what the actual cause(s) is/are.

as always, vaccination is most important for the very young and the very old who don't tend to have particularly strong immune systems. most adults just straight up don't need flu shots because their systems are equipped to deal with it and then recover, potentially with better resistance in the future.

now there is alot of hype and many people blame the media, but I blame that most influential demographic: the baby boomers. Almost all the baby boomers are now over the age of 50. about the time when people start to think about death and many really become afraid. what does this mean? a whole lot of medicare concerns and fears over epidemics.

so NO, I am not gonna get a flu shot, but you better believe that both my parents (who also happen to be in the healthcare industry) got theirs.

We are not ready for a vaccination, that's why Canada bought it's supply gem Europe, trusting them. Nothing against Europe, I'm from there, however if Canada didn't make it then it isn't worth it. To me, this is one VERY large-scale clinical trial for the next big flu, which very well might be a true pandemic.

I think the swine flu scared the governments to get much more prepared for when real serious shit goes down.

did any of you guys hear about that girl who got the vaccination and it struck a nerve or something? she has some impossible illness because of it. i think its fake, but it definitely gets the message across.

I heard a rumor that they would be forcing students at public schools in my area to attend a mandatory vaccination.

I say : Fuck that shit... any "mandatory" injection that the GOVERNMENT is overseeing sounds like something straight out of 1984, or the NWO.

I'll fight it tooth and nail, I got sick recently, but with strep throat.. h1n1 can't fuck with me.

bahaha pyro, the minitry of silly walks! lol so bad.. but seriously, thats not from hitting a nerve. thats a virus infecting the nervous system. like herpes, only worse lol. affecting neuro-muscular transmission.

but you're right pyro, vaccinations/viruses do not cause autism. there is a lot of controversy as whether it does, espcially back with the measels outbreak, but it has neither been proved or disproved.

as for me, i'm going to get the H1N1 shot. i'm in the hospital a lot, changing dressings, starting and changing IVs, pulling out staples/sutures, helping people go to the bathroom, needless to say i'm around a lot of sick people and their bodily fluids. including the people with swine flu. so just because i'm in such close proximity with these people i am going to get it. the risks/consequences are just too high. for me.

the media has done a horrible job, they spit out any new news that might be right, either right or wrong, they don't really know. confusing the whole population, very counter-productive.

edit: spelling

No, but not because I think that it's the government trying to track my movement or that they are really trying to use these vaccines for Eugenics. (if you don't know what Eugenics means look it up)
Or even that i think it's all a setup be some random company to make money.

I simply don't think at my age it will be an issue and would rather someone else who needs it get the shot instead of me.

Vaccinations are something that should stay up to the person.
As far as what Marine said, that seems like the instance where you'd scream "THIS IS MY BOOMSTICK" and back out of the room slowly.

Personally, not planning to get the H1N1 Vaccine, as I don't plan on getting H1N1 Flu in the first place :)
