I would rather not be a captain only because its looking like ontario's college profs are going on strike and I will be away from my computer for some time in February looking for a job. This will make it easier for me to be replaced if shit goes in that direction

Well since the whole tourney will only consist of 4 games, we will for sure play them all in one day, it should only take 2.5-3 hours.

Seems most people want it to be later on thursday(9pmish?)

Since it's only 4 teams, I think it'll be like this:

Prelims :: everyone plays everyone (so 3 games each team), and are ranked 1st to 4th based on their records

Semis :: 1 vs 4, 2 vs 3

Championship :: the 2 semis winners

Toilet Bowl :: the 2 semis losers

just get rid of the prelim set :P

BHA or Stve picks captains 1, 2, 3, 4 (pick from a hat which captain goes to what team number)

then just do 1 vs 4, 2 vs 3 or whatever....

then finals for the winners, consolations for the losers...

although a 3 game prelim isn't bad either.... but maybe do that for the next tourney when it will hopefully be larger (so the prelims actually MEAN something)....

so 4 matches in the one night, instead of 10 (if my math is correct) like you propose Narf....

It'll be a lot harder if we try to do prelims with more teams. But on a Thursday night, maybe 4 games is the better choice...

it will go something like

1vs4
2vs3
Loser of 1v4 VS Loser of 2v3(for 3rd/4th)
Winner of 1v4 VS Winner of 2v3(for 1st/2nd)

4 games should run in under 3 hours.
