Pistols on crack

I think everyone by now knows how crazy good the Desert Eagle is at the moment. However honestly I feel like pistols in general got a massive buff. Whether or not its truly bad for the balance of the game is up in the air for me, but here's some things I thought should also raise concerns.

1. Glock can now 1-shot players with no helmet at mid range. It feels more accurate too but it could just be variance since I played with this pistol the least.
2. P2000 is very accurate and its dmg is essentially up there with the p250. Main drawback is its firing speed.
3. As if the p250 wasn't already good, they reduced the cost.
4. And ah yes, setting aside that deagles now 2 shots everyone, the actual damage values makes it even worse. Getting shot by a deagle puts you anywhere below 30 hp which makes you an easy target to finish off by any other gun. Vice versa getting shot to 70 hp now puts you at a severe risk of getting 1 shot by a deagle bullet.

I don't think this changes pub server play that much, after all we've put up with P90s for ages now. But I hope Valve reconsiders some of these changes for competitive play, especially deagles.
PS. Rifles feel awesome now.

Yeah, the rifles are OP now...
I think Valve is just playing around with the damage values... no way they would let the deagle be this powerful.

Fumble

1. Does the glock really 1 shot kill now at mid range? I thought it still took 1 hs and a bit more. Regardless this pistol is now a monster, one of my favorite pistols in the game now. It is much more accurate and does a lot more damage.
2. I think P2000 is still one of the weaker pistols now but its better than the previous one which completely sucked.
3. P250 had it's cost reduced but its also a lot less accurate when your firing full speed. With glock and deagle now, P250 is simply a pistol I use once in a while now because of the nerf. It still serves a role but I would take the glock over p250 any day now.
4. Deagle is now extremely strong. This pistol is a game changer and I think its simply too much. I hope they nerf it because right now the deagle is just ridiculous. In the pub server it saw tremendous use early when the patch was released. Its kinda cooled off since then but still remains immensely popular compared to prepatch. Back in the day, I would go eco rounds with mp7 or something, now I sometimes prefer the deagle over ak/m4.

Deagle is annoying...
If I'm scouting and a guy runs around the corner with one, I shoot him, and by the time I'm ready to shoot again he's already shot me twice in the stomach and I'm dead.
Ridiculous ;_;

When will you understand that pistols can kill 1 shot? The game is getting more realistic... duh.

The pistols are stronger. I was frustrated at first too, but you just gotta adapt. I honestly think they will reduce the deagle damage buff in the next patch though.

Killomatic

Severely agree with the scout comment.
Since the scout is the only reliable sniper weapon in the game (let's not mention the awp) I tend to use it quite often.
But if a guy at the same distance can kill me and two of my comrades after taking a scout to the sternum.....I just don't see the point of using anything else.
It's a little messed up when these guys have deagle / p90 combo, really not much you can do with a scout / pump style weapon.

To be honest, I've never really liked the deagle.......
But I'm also not going to bitch about it one way or the other, I'm just going to find a way to beat you bastards using it!

Dissident

For everyone who is also saying that the deagle has gotten worse (people in game seem to not agree) here are the real number changes

DEAGLE
WeaponArmorRatio 1.5 -> WeaponArmorRatio 1.864
Damage 54 -> Damage 84
RangeModifier 0.81 -> RangeModifier 0.926
InaccuracyCrouch 5.78 -> InaccuracyCrouch 2.78
InaccuracyFire 35.00 -> InaccuracyFire 84.23
InaccuracyMove 16.10 -> InaccuracyMove 58.10
RecoveryTimeCrouch 0.379927 -> RecoveryTimeCrouch 0.209927
RecoveryTimeStand 0.455912 -> RecoveryTimeStand 0.35912
RecoilAngleVariance 20 -> RecoilAngleVariance 60
RecoilMagnitude 37.50 -> RecoilMagnitude 48.20
RecoilMagnitudeVariance 11 -> RecoilMagnitudeVariance 18

And in case you didn't know:
Armor ratio
A ratio of 1 means you get only 50% of damage.
A ratio of 1.5 means it does 75% of damage against armor.

Range
The higher the mod, the higher the damage at long range.

Inaccuracy
The lower the number, the more accurate is the weapon.

Soooo basically stay crouched and not moving and you have an unzoomed scout that ignores 93.2% of your armour. However when moving about and firing quickly all your accuracy goes out the window which is why people seem to be equally loving and hating on the things new differences right now.

Whelp, on the bright side at least pistols require some aim. You can say deagles are like unscoped scouts that can kill you across the map, but at least that takes a little skill. Unlike people who sprayed the old p90 while strafing at full speed across the map and somehow land 2 headshots to kill me.
