Ordered a Dell Studio XPS 16 - Thots?

Just bought a Dell XPS 1647 with i7 for $1399 with $100 dell rebate + $50 paypal discount. Do you guys think its a decent rig for $1411 total? I hope it is, they apparently fixed the 'throttling' issues from the previous 1645 and early 1647 models.

i think turbo mode is the i7 overclocks and underclocks automatically as you need it.

yea, from my understanding, if the comp us under load and uses just two cores, those two active cores can go into turbo mode so 2 cores will run @ 2.8 ghz. If all 4 cores are being utilized at max, they will run at 1.6ghz. Something like that anyway

turbo mode = overclock, How's the battery life on that and weight?

Not sure on the battery life yet, there are no laptop reviews on the Dell XPS 1647 model yet. 1645 with 9-cell lasts around 3 1/2 hrs on idle and 2 1/2+ hrs on dvd/net surfing

good enough for a gaming lappy.

a Asus one cost $400 more with those spec, well with better video card, and all those flashy things on the laptop n 2 year global warranty. XD
