Since i may have reached a new level of noob, or only admins are allowed to make polls in forum threads, i will just ask what you guys think.

I'm looking to order parts, what online stores do you recommend.

- NCIX
- Newegg.ca
- TigerDirect.ca

or maybe others i don't know about. what have you guys had good a experience with?

Canada Computers is good too. Also check the link in Tech thread about Gaming Rigs at CC (by me), in there is another link someone gave, even bertter prices then CC.

I order from NCIX almost exclusively, sometimes from newegg, but NCIX has good shipping costs and i have had next day delivery on $10 shipping. Anything i order from newegg takes at least a week.

www.directcanada.com They are usually lower in price than NCIX and carry alot of shit NCIX doesnt. but with NCIX you dont pay PST so it almost evens out. I usually check multiple sites and get whatever has the best price, NCIX, Tiger, Direct Canada, Newegg, and Premier Computer Canada.

tiger, you can even go IN-STORE... best prices I find, everytime... But really, do your homework, and you'll find the best prices in each store... buy your components seperately, if needed..

Either that or work out a bulk deal (i.e. "hey man, instead of me shopping around, you wanna give me a bit of a deal because I'm buying all my shit from you?" you know what I'm sayin??? Computer prices are one of the most marked-up products sold in any market.

yeah, thats what i was doing, comparing between all stores. i had no idea of all those stores, i guess you just have to look. direct canada had the best price for what i was looking for (HD). and i'm not ordering bulk, or else i'd forsure do that BJ.

thanks

Computer prices are not marked up that much BJ, computer hardware has the lowest markup of almost any product for resale. The majority of parts are under 10% markup, unless your dealing with FS/BB which has some dumb ass markups. When you get a package deal like what you said, the reseller is making anywhere from 1 ~ 3%. They do it to keep your business.

Now, if you do see one place selling a product way under that of other stores it usually means it's grey market, in effect the warranty is not valid in Canada, which leaves you paying for extra shipping if there's any problems.

My gift to TD, anyone who wants parts & is in Ontario, i'll cut out the PST on any order, if your outside of Ontario you get PST off anyways, just mention you're a TD bukkake expert.

I've had shitty customer service and support from tiger. I Like newegg in the USA, but in canada - the prices are terrible. Canada Computer is good if you can find someone who speaks english and is willing to speak english back to you. Rare, but doable. NCIX I find more expensive, but the service is good.

I havent tried the rest.

Yes NCIX is sometimes a little more expensive and there selection isn't the best, but if you find deals with free or $7.99 shipping and no PST they are almost always cheaper. New egg and tiger always have $20+ shipping and I've never had them ship same week, I have had NCIX orders come the next day with $10 shipping.
