making an ad attacking a religious concept (a fairly important one to Islam, at that) is pretty fucking dumb, unless you just want to inflame more blind extremism. better to attack the people manipulating religion to their own end. implying Israelis to be any more civilized than Palestinians is pretty fucking dumb too. many of them are on the same religious crusade as misguided mujahideen - they just don't have a pretty name for themselves.
making it a fight for free speech is just a waste of everyone's time. the point isn't that people don't want her to have free speech. it's that why would you want to use free speech for this in the first place? it will achieve nothing. if she were actually being oppressed, it would be a different story, but she isn't. the authorities just want her to use her fucking brain before actually putting up the ads.

Just to let you know, I did read your entire post, and found it insightful. I do wish to point out one thing: I did say/write Muslim Extremists/Muslim Extremism. I did not/do not wish to extend my views to the entire faith, culture or peoples. If I made it sound so, then I owe an apology to those peoples because that was not my intention at all.
I do agree with a lot of what you've said, but maybe I'm having trouble communicating my point clearly enough. Some of what you mentioned goes in line with the point I was trying to establish - that a lot of the East (I'll leave it general for the sake of this point) hasn't moved on, while most of the West (it seems, anyway) has moved on in the sense that there isn't much radicalism, crazies bombing eachother and religious mass-murders. There's freedoms here; everyone can believe what they want, to any extent that they want. In the East, it seems to me, no one has the chance/choice to steer away from that, and it's fucked up... Unbelievable.
