they are all mehhh, leroy. ppl glue on little heat sinks on the memory modules, otherwise, the stock fan is as good as any other.
Since when is a 20° drop "mehhh"?

Did you guys install these after market coolers yourself? So, you just ripped off the cover, and went to town?
I'm not about to perform the same surgery on my $500/each card. Besides, I have sli? I have no idea how tight these cards will be.
Why wouldn't you just run a manual fan profile to keep it cooler? Some people get artifacting starting in the 80s.My 6970 runs at 90 C @ full load, the default fan profile doesn't even ramp up the fan past 40% until it passes 90 so these GPU's now a days can take the heat.
I'm going to liquid cool the shit outta my box this weekend tho, probably adding a second card for SnG'z.
also sal, no cooling for the ram? those passive heatsinks aren't doing much with no airflow.
it's only held on by 4 screws, the wiring for the fan and the shitty thermal paste/pads sandwiched between...
Then water cooling is your only option because the aftermarket heatsinks tend to be even larger than stock. I don't want to talk you into it if you're against it, but just remember I'll be here to help if you reconsider once you hear how loud those cards will get under load :) Think: jet taking off.
