Back in 1.2-1.6 days, I had custom crosshairs for both my scope and regular crosshair. Reason behind it is it made them more visible on my screen when sniping with scope or sniping with AK/M4, even if against a bright background. Does anyone know if this is possible in source? If it is, does TD have a problem with me using them?

For scope I used WW2 german type of scope, looks kinda like this: http://www.rubags.com/images/3b37_3.JPG

For none scope, I made a custom crosshair that looked like an X with an empty space in the middle with a dark red dot where the center should be.

Prop, this wasn't considered exploiting back in 1.2-1.6. A lot of people used custom crosshairs, there was even sites where they had all sorts you could pick and choose from!

Changing the scope crosshair and the AK/M4 (weapons with no scope) crosshairs.

I don't even know if you could include a crosshair to no scope on snipers. They might have changed the ability to create custom crosshairs for CSS because I've looked around and found no custom crosshairs. Anyways, figured I'd ask =P

sounds like it just makes your crosshairs more visible. if that is so, i don't see how that is cheating. of course, crosshairs on a scope weapon when you dont have a scope up is bs.

It's not fair to the rest of the players who cant see their crossair in light backgrounds. Sometimes i miss my target because of it on dust 2, cant see where i'm shooting. I use light blue and cl_crossairescale 3500

red crosshair FTW! I knew a guy who used to play scoutsknives and put a small piece of tape where the crosshair is on his screen so he could no scope easier, it was pretty pathetic.

When I use to play Unreal Infiltration mod (10+ years ago) all the guns didnt have crosshairs... you could pull it up and sort of shoot it like a rail but it was slower... some fags use to put a little dot from a permanent marker in the middle of the screen, where the crosshair would be...

lol, i don't think you can even add a crosshair to no scope with snipers. I had a custom zoomed crosshair that I linked, and a custom crosshair for AK and M4, only diff from regular ones was color and red dot in middle =P

Anyways, there was so many custom crosshairs, I made my own back then. The game is never even for anyone, from equipment we use to connection, there are too many variables :P

For no scope sniping, ppl put the tape on the monitor with a small piece of paper.

I hope they improve their crosshairs in the next CS, cuz the ones we have suck more cock than <insert name here>!
