New camera

So im looking for a new camera and would like some feedback on what to get.
I want to get a digital camera ( non slr), I just want it for high end pictures with just a simple click of the button.

What you guys think of the Cannon PowerShot SX230 HS?

Looks good, but im not into cameras, so not sure if good.

If that's your budget, I'd grab a Canon S95, or the bit older Canon S90 (if you can find it). Even a derp can get high quality images from that thing. Good for low light, too -- outside at night, inside restaurants, etc... It looks like any regular point-and-shoot, but kicks their ass in performance.

Or you could grab a Panasonic Lumix LX5, which is also a top notch point-and-shoot. If you get this, go to SIG Electronics.

you can get an EPL1 for $399 on vistek - Best IQ and the ability to add lens later. DSLR like without the size. (This is what i would get.) There is also a Samsung nx100 that would work. (I will most likely be getting the Samsung nx20 when it is released later next month that is also why the epl1 and nx100 are so cheap now!)

the Canon s95 is more expensive than the EPL1 or NX100 (Samsung) - its a good advanced P&S. but not worth the price if you can handle the larger size of the EPL1 or NX100

Canon SX210 has a nice little sale on it for 280 - 14x zoom (BIG ZOOM) it will be a nice all around camera. and that is a nice price.

Olympus 8010 or TG310 $330 & $180 - water proof Dust proof shock proof. you can drop it and it still works! underwater heat/cold it does a good job of living through things other compact would not.

and if you just want a pos P&S just grab any $100 camera and enjoy. canon always makes a good p&s camera.
