Olst being as sexy as he is, is a human rights violation. Every woman I wanted to pick up, he was all like, "bonjour ladies, purrrr"

Good link,

it's no coincidence that the caps started RIGHT when Netflix came to Canada.

It's the oligopy nature of big media in Canada. It's funny because we've been torrenting blu ray's for years, and besides minor throttling, no big deal.

I think the ISP is upset because they're not getting a chunk of the change, well TOO BAD, I pay for my service, you will deliver it, or else I'll go to the other guy who looks awfully a lot like the first guy.

fuck.

y dsl over cable?
Unfortuntely, our government's regulations prevent Teksavvy, Rogers etc. to provide cable services in my area (which is run by Cogeco). You know, because Canada is a free market. Makes sense, no?

But I must admit, after having rogers cable for years in my previous two homes (5+years of service) and switching to teksavvy DSL I see literally no difference. Same speeds, never any downtime. Good for me.

The internet is worse where I am in FL... only 1 cable provider. They charge $52 a month for 10/1 connection. :feelscry:

How I read the article is that Netflix is upset because Canadian telcos are fucking with its business model of spoonfeeding mindless entertainment to a public that's gotten too intellectually feeble to mosey over to the library and read a fucking book once in a while
