I used to be frugal and shit about getting best bang for buck. Then I said fuck it. Went out and got Asus GTX 680 Direct CUII OC. Cool, Quiet, and low power consumption.

Since then "graphically intense games" are my bitch. Two thumbs up for this card if you wanna go big.

Video cards are Freaking expensive!! even used video cards
I don't know what your config is atm but if your motherboard is sli enabled, I would buy the same card you currently have and use it in SLI mode until you save up enough for a decent video card. Not worth spending $125 for a marginal updated vid card.

I bought an MSI GTX 670 TwinFrozr. Shit has a 680 PCB, runs at the same speed as a 680, and runs at 51C is the hottest I've ever seen.

Bought it on sale, for $408 after tax.

I just googled the GeForce 9500 GT and even if you use it in SLI, its not very good so please ignore my last suggestion.
Try searching the local online classified [craigslist/kijiji/etc] you might luck out on a decent card.
