Need help with my new monitor....

Well while I was only home for two days this weekend from work, I did some side work and made some cash and went out and bought this... http://www.samsung.com/us/computer/monitors/LS23PUHKFV/ZA. Its not bad and I got a steal on it. I am about to go out of town again but I tried rift real quick and turned the graphics up and it looks sick. I tried counter-strike though and set the resolution to the 1920x1080 native and it looks great but while moviing from like side to side it seams choppy. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas on wheat might help cut that down. Never had a monitor this big always had a 17" or smaller.

aka sucking off the men of Michigan?

Is it your computer that is chopping or is the monitor just the problem? What type of input you using? dvi?

using just the standard vga i think. the blue one. i was using a 19" dell lcd before and had the resolution up on that and had no problems. hooked this one up and turned resolution up and choppy. i turned the resolution down a little and it helped :(. i got a evga geforce 9500 gt card.

DMI 47? DVI you mean.... yeah don't use a plain old VGA cord corey, use dvi at least... im pretty sure vga doesn't support 1920x1080 unless you have a dvi adaptor... still better to use a dvi wire to connect to vid card to monitor... this could be the problem with the choppiness or whatever it is...

pretty sure 47 meant hdmi... either way, ya use dvi (white plug, slightly bigger than blue vga). vga can handle hd res, but not with same data transfer rate (hence less vibrant colour, trouble with some refresh rates, and less overall colour depth such as true 16bit colouring)... if its not the cable, get another monitor, could be a bad connection...

also, double check refresh rates both in windows and in game. windows may have defaulted 59hz and the game may be 60, which would cause stutter. good luck.

its not really. arent HDMI and DVI are same quality, the difference being that HDMI carries audio?

Through nvidia control panel or ati catalyst (whatever you have), is the easiest way.
