47, basement theatre has 4 subs, 1100W RMS through 2 receivers, and about 12 speakers. That shits fine :)

This is for my room, i just wanna have some decent sound, and since i dont have computer speakers, this system (or similar) will do well for te price. I watch a lot of tv shows in my room on ny comp, and my board has fibre optic 7.1 out. and the system takes fibre optic in for dolby digital, so itll be nice.

just buy some Z5500 logitechs. I've had mine for 5 years now and they pound. best computer speakers evah. I have them hooked up to 2 computers and you have optical, coaxial, and analog in

and a simple 5.1 yamaha optical in receiver from the comp. (picked it off ebay for $99, HTR-6130, works great but photocopied manual so who knows where it came from lol).

that philips shiiite, i don't know, nice price, i wonder if they'd let you hear it first or if you could go try it out at big box store first or something. but if you want surround in your room go for something like that, otherwise just a receiver and two quality towers will do you good.

I've got two 5-way towers and when I turn my sub on you can really feel the difference.

Sold out. Bought a 1000w rca unit off walmart in the end. My goal was to get a home theatre in a box for no more than $99, but one with the best receiver. I ALWAYS replace speakers pair by pair as i find deals over time... i know rca is shite, but i gotta say:

3hdmi in
1 coaxial in
1 optical in
Front audio/video in
2 rear rca audio in

1 hdmi out
1 optical audio out
1 mono rca sub audio out (for self powered sub; expansion)
1 rca line out
1 component video out

Tons of eqs (including custom)
Custom gain for each channel (2db increments)
Detailed remote control
Sub IS amplified by receiver (passive subwoofer)
6 DSPs (the typical ones, i.e. club, hall, sim. Surround etc.)
Distance adjustment; one per channel, in 2 foot increments for proper setup

Shits GOLD, and VERY loud for a bedroom. For $99, i won :)

EDIT: Removed the 1080P Progressive scan point, because, there isn't one built in at all lol My bad, I was thinking of another model. Oh well, my comp handles that, or I just hook up my Sony Blu-Ray player through HDMI - which the receiver has 3 ins/1 out and supports full, real-time HDMI switching
