I recommend a BFG GTX 280/285

they are a good manufacturer and their cards nowadays come with a 10-year limited lifetime warranty (more than enough for most people) plus they also have a 100-day trade-up program.

My friend got a GTX 285 sent to him after his 9800GX2 burned out for free in a bout a week thru express fedex. Not bad.

cool story, last fall me and my buddy went to infonec there when he was grabbing his rig, funny shit, he bought all the parts with one part being Antec 900 case, they stuffed everything inside the case still boxed so he could carry everything home, they billed him but forgot to put the actual case on the invoice...like $100 instant discount, see if you can confuse those stupid fucks at CC, u probably could do the same there...

I went kinda cheap on my video cards: ATI Radeon 4850 XFX * 2...cost me about $100 for each card. 1gb memory 256bit bus. Quite happy with them running in Crossfire mode. I get about 300fps in CSS and BC2 runs smooth with everything maxed out.

This is soo true. Tiger Direct employees cant tell their dicks from their hands. I was there the other looking for a fan, the guy pretended like he knew what he was talking about while he was nothing but a moron. Telling me they don't carry something when its on the shelf right in front of him.

I game at 1680x1050.

I have a GTX 260 and it does its job well, but in some of the 'hardcore' graphical games (Metro 2033, Crysis, etc) it can slow down at times.

If I had to choose today and only had a budget of up to $350, I would go with a GTX 470. You can get one for as little as $350 and even cheaper with sales.

At any rate, I would probably not invest in a single GTX 200 series (260, 275, 285, 295) at this point any more unless you plan to SLI because they don't have DX11, and they don't have the performance of the newer cards (5850, 5870, GTX 400 series).

If you can find a couple of GTX 260 cards for ~$175, I would get two of them and SLI.

whoever was talking about gtx 460 is a dummy, cause it doesn't exist yet, and the gtx 480 barely pwns a 5850, let alone a 5870 or a 5970, plus a gtx 480 consumes like 350W of power...and is more expensive...lol!! next release of fermi should be awesome...but that's how it goes, remember ati's hd 2900?? lol, they got the tech on lock down now!!
