Music Question For Y'all

So this is a cover, yes, but I'd like to know how many of you would think it'd be a good idea for me to write a song similar to this. Kind of slow and sweet but maybe with more of a punch?

Anything by or involving Paramore sounds good, so I'd say go for it. Just dear god don't get drunk and decide to change it up and then next morning realize you've butchered it, because then I can legitimately turn you into bacon.

I like Metric and I listen to a lot of their stuff, but even they've become a little more mainstream, and I agree they're better than Paramore, but Metric has very little singing range. I've covered a few songs with my band already. The only thing that makes it interesting are the keys and synths.
*shrugs*
I'm just saying there's better stuff out there than the both of those bands, but anywho...
