Motorcycle riders

I had an R6 2 years ago, sold it to buy a house :(

I still rent bikes from time to time from GTAexotics.. took out a Gsxr 600 last week for the day, put on 1000km's in one day...lol they were like shit, so much for the unlimited mileage before May 1st....

Anyhow I would recommend starting with a 600race bike, ive seen it too many times where guys want to start on a 250-500 then see the bigger faster bikes and quickly sell their bikes to trade up to the bigger boys... and im talking within 3-4 months tops... dont be afraid of a faster bike, cause a the end of the day, its all in how much throttle control you have... look my first bike was a Yamaha r6 with a pizza cutter sprocket on the back..this was intended for very quick takeoffs for ppl that like to stunt doing wheelies and shit... soe ppl say I was crazy for learning on it, but i took my time and got comfortable with it, and had no regrets... GL

People forget... its not about taking your time on a sports bike... It's about ease of recovery when you do have an incident... blipping the powerband on a 600 cc supersport cbr gixxer R6 or the ninja has enough raw power to flip that bike with a 225lbs rider... now hell thats a lot of damage to rider and bike... lets try not to get 68 on something he can easily trade up too... especially when hes got the right idea in mind...

I would look in on the GS500... the unfaired version isnt as cool looking but minimal plastics to break when it gets dropped... extremely light with great acceleration enough to get you in trouble but not enough you can lose your head on it... you will most likely reach the maximum learning curve on a bike like this in 100 hours of riding... but they have great resale value and you can always find a used one for cheap

Your whole opinion is based on the probabilities of him getting into an accident, which is not a good start, I have over 8000km's of rider experience, and not once have i got close to dropping my bike...most 600's with a 225lbs person as per your example will not even wheelie in 2nd gear if you Full throttle it... you talk about the throttle being so sensitive that the slightest cock of wrist will get the bike up..thats not the case dude... i do see your point regarding safety and repairs, however i will guarantee you, once 68 has a chance to ride with a crew of sport bikes, hell be trading in that 250 quick times....

I don't know man, on my r6 the front end would come up with any quick flick of my wrist. Regardless, I agree, I learned on a 600 and never put it down once.

I understand trying to get him onto a slower bike though. After all, I'd rather him have to sell and upgrade at the loss of a few hundred bucks than eat shit and/or die on a bigger bike.

Anyone in the TD ride motorcycles? If do, what do you ride? I'm just getting into it, staring in the course tommoro. Im looking at getting a ninja 250 or something.

I rode a Honda CBR 125R for a year, I now a ride a Kawasaki Ninja 250R which I totally recommend, im still young so I can't really go for any bikes that are like 500cc+ or insurance is GG no re.

If you can afford it, I recommend a 600cc+, I tried my friends CBR 600RR and Yammy R6, and let me just say, the speeds you can reach on those things is like OMG! I can only imagine what an R1 or GSXR 1000 does! If I were to die, it wouldn't be on a Harley, I would want to die going 300+ km/h on a Suzuki Hayabusa! But I doubt thats gonna happen, that thing is heavy as fcuk!

i want a bike really badly but my mom always just seems completely shocked and appalled whenever i bring it up. fuckin sick!

[/quote1273070162]

+1, my parents were like "NO" when I brought it up. So... I just straight up left their household, got my licences, saved money, bought a bike and done...

[quote1273070163=Narf!]
Which is why you don't bring it up. You get your license, get your bike, and BAM!
[/quote1273070163]

+1. The day I went back to my parents housse on my bike they were like WTFOMGBBQGTFOFFMYPROPERTY.

+1 on that, once i get a bike im visiting all u fuckers in toronto.

I sat on one of those at a BMW dealership and at the motorcycle show. I honestly would've wanted that as my dream bike too, but the thing that really turned me off 100% is the non matching headlights...like WTF it doesnt match! one is a messed up circle and the other is like not a messed up circle! like...wtf!

yeah thats pretty fucked up.

at first I thought it was because you ride in the left tire track on the road, and it was something to do with the light going around other cars. but apparently they think it looks better, cuz most of the best looking supermodels have an asymmetrical face.

ya buell blast is awesome... sadly support for it isnt there anymore so sad he got involved with harley from the start... but i hear hes getting into serious racing now!
