:waiting: why bring that name here
I'm sort of meh with pewds, he has made some good videos but then again he panhandles to the lowest common denominator. Not that I blame him.
It occured to me today that with Microsoft buying Mojang what will happen to their other projects? Will they get a boost because the still have the same people working for them or will they just get shelved?

They didn't buy Mojang, they bought Minecraft.
Mojang is still running and now able to spend more time on other projects rather than dedidating time and people to one game.

Alas no, they actually brought out Mojang as a hole not just Minecraft. Read the letter on the Mojang site.

Well since that happened they can do things. Start over as a new company or just retire with all that money they just got. I would probably retire

I'd be shocked if they didn't retire. They really only went into business to manage Minecraft after it got too big for Notch to handle alone.

I'm happy for Notch. He doesn't want to manage a game. He's a coder and that's what he wants to do. Now, he has all the resources he could need to make anything he sets his mind to. He deserves it.

I heard about this. That really sucks that they bought minecraft. I used to play it daily, but then it just.... lost it's touch. The new updates get lazier and lazier, nothing new that matters is added in. It's what happens with most companies. They get big, then they sell out. I don't blame The Good Sir Markus.

Scrolls is good though. Hopefully microsoft won't change that.

Change is what keeps companies, especially ones in the tech business, alive. What you paid for was absolutely no guarantee of the future/updates either, rather just for what had already been developed, which is still fully accessible to you and likely will remain so regardless of any changes Microsoft chooses to make.

I didn't mean to imply that change is always good, rather than you shouldn't expect any product, particularly one you paid a one-time flat rate for with no guarantee of future developments, to remain exactly the same. The part you do have a guarantee of is past developments, which you'll still have access to unchanged.

I don't really understand why the new Telltale Minecraft game is a bad thing. I might be missing something since I haven't looked at it in detail. but how does it affect your product in any way? It's an entirely separate product. Are you saying your hot dog isn't as good because someone else got a one too?

While this could be good, I'm not sure it's going to be. TellTale games always cost a fortune - just for one chapter/season! We'll see though.

Minecraft was supposed to be an open game about imagination and creativity. You made up your own story about who your character was in every new world you created.

Now it's a story-based RPG with linear pathways to new places on the map, with short quests, and tons of DLC. Crapfest 2k15

I'm really not sure how I feel about this, I actually like a very large amount of telltale games so I know they could actually pull it off then again it seems like it could fail badly, really badly.
