Minecraft's community is worse than COD anyways, and Singleplayer is decent, but gets old after 1-3 worlds. All the servers are trash too, there's only "FACTION/PVP/CREATIVE" servers where owners can't be more original and think of something better along with all the "24/7 HUNGER GAMES SERVER" that are all rigged to give donators an advantage over people who didn't blow money.

The game is decent, but compared to all the better sandbox games out there it might as well not exist. The community ruins it too, but now we can have Microsoft Live while we play!11!!

There are some great servers with a variety of gamemodes other than the tradition ones it really depends on what servers you frequent as to if multiplayer minecraft is fun. I disagree on the community aspect, granted a lot of minecraft players are 10 and have a tendency to rage but again it depends on the server. I forgot to add the Mojang message when posting the thread so its now edited in.

2.5 billion is a hard price to turn down, for a game that you don't want to want to develop anymore. Notch is an indie developer at heart and doesn't really care about being popular in the gaming industry. The fact that the game went global is great! It went from a simple project to a big time deal in a matter of 1-4 years. Notch wants to work on other projects, and I don't blame him. Sitting there coding what physics you want blocks to have for even the time he did I can imagine was boring. With so many other ideas for other games he has he wants to do something else, and Minecraft isn't the game is was a few years ago. We now how an RPG MMO Squeakfest with Rogue like shit, oh and by the way. Did you hear that you can mine and place blocks? In all seriousness though it's a good move for Notch, Minecraft has definitely reached its peak. It's time to let Microsoft add MicroTransactions where you have to pay 30 bucks for a call of duty skin. Oh, and I also heard that MC 2.0 is a pay to upgrade.Microsoft loves :yourtears:

Microsoft Studios has made and contributed to some spectacular games so I don't know what all the fuss is about. It would've been a tragedy if it was picked up by EA.

From the Mojang article, it sounds like they are just tired out. A big project like Minecraft naturally needs more resources to keep the ball rolling, so I'm not surprised a big dog picked it up.

Probably has to do with Games for Windows Live. Out of all the DRMs out there, I think this one of the worst.

I agree I mean the game began as such a simple concept and spread like wildfire. I mean if I had an idea that made it big I would sell it. When doing it stops being fun its time to pass it on to someone else who can put in their own ideas. I mean 2.5 billion dollars for this game is insane. If I had that kind of money I would never have to work a day in my life again. I could retire and do just about whatever I want for the rest of my life. Hopefully Microsoft doesn't make it a total shit fest.

:getout:

I gave up on MC around this last March, about when I resigned as Admin from the Minecraft community I had been a part of. A lot of the stuff that went down there just really turned me off the game. It didn't help that the updates were becoming more and more ridiculous.

Definitely not. Ray William Johnson has the most(?) subs on YouTube, but I think he's incredibly annoying.
