i don't think it should. *queue weird looks*
and you can call me weird or off my rocker for thinking this but i think marijuana as it is right now is a gateway drug or starting point. and if you remove the legal risk of possessing and using it then the bar can be seen as lowered and trying a new drug (which will not doubtedly be more deadly) is more likely. where does it stop then?
if people really want to smoke it, vaporize it, eat it.. they will. the law doesn't stop them. marijuana is fun, right and ready to go, i used to smoke quite a bit but don't anymore. i still hang out with all the same people, that hasn't changed; i just think drugs (not the people who partake) are a cloud over your head, its not reality, its fake, sad, weak, an attempt to go somewhere else.
IMO

Ummm, I worked at the beer store for almost three years, and if you think pot is gateway drug, you have never seen real "drugs", point and case booze. Show me someone who smokes a joint and goes home and beats the shit out of his wife... Show me a pot head who has shit his pants and is looking for more pot. It does not happen. The laws regarding marijuana are out of date, and were brought about largely because of racism. The war on marijuana has cost North America billions and has only served to increase violence and make gangs far stronger. The Netherlands have the right idea, and I'm glad illegal or not, I can smoke a joint in my own house without being bothered by the coppers.

+1, legalize it.... it's not like it's going anywhere, they might as well make some money out of it....
