Marijuana

i don't think it should. *queue weird looks*

and you can call me weird or off my rocker for thinking this but i think marijuana as it is right now is a gateway drug or starting point. and if you remove the legal risk of possessing and using it then the bar can be seen as lowered and trying a new drug (which will not doubtedly be more deadly) is more likely. where does it stop then?

if people really want to smoke it, vaporize it, eat it.. they will. the law doesn't stop them. marijuana is fun, right and ready to go, i used to smoke quite a bit but don't anymore. i still hang out with all the same people, that hasn't changed; i just think drugs (not the people who partake) are a cloud over your head, its not reality, its fake, sad, weak, an attempt to go somewhere else.

IMO

i agree with bob from acc. you summarized it perfectly. its an escape, a distraction. i can have fun with my friends without the use of an illegal substance, i think of those who do drugs as losers. weed, not as much. but people who do things beyond weed i consider somewhat pathetic.

Well Bob by your own logic we should remove alcohol because that is THE gateway drug, and far more lethal then pot.

Pot should be legal to stop developing ages (17 and under) from Abusing it. As it WILL cause permanent damage to kids over using it during that age. Yes I know even if it's legal And laws are put into place people can still gain access to it. But it will stop the majority (just like alcohol) from getting full access to it. It's much too easy for a 16y/o to get pot these days and that scares me.

Key rule to all drugs is take it with in reason. I smoke because it's better for my body then alcohol.

Then alcohol should be illegal then.?.

Yes. Let the degenerates drop out of functioning society. Just another thing to cull the weak from the herd. I say make all drugs legal, and let the strong survive. Weak people can't resist the temptation and will do anything they can to excess. GREAT! Let 'em!

Ummm, I worked at the beer store for almost three years, and if you think pot is gateway drug, you have never seen real "drugs", point and case booze. Show me someone who smokes a joint and goes home and beats the shit out of his wife... Show me a pot head who has shit his pants and is looking for more pot. It does not happen. The laws regarding marijuana are out of date, and were brought about largely because of racism. The war on marijuana has cost North America billions and has only served to increase violence and make gangs far stronger. The Netherlands have the right idea, and I'm glad illegal or not, I can smoke a joint in my own house without being bothered by the coppers.

+1, legalize it.... it's not like it's going anywhere, they might as well make some money out of it....

true. if the government could tax marijuana we would be better off in that sense. but in my opinion i don't think society would be better off. you don't care about anything when you're high, and some of the crazy ass thoughts you have are not normal. but sure, they're fun.

and yeah, i agree alcohol is much more deadly than marijuana. but the law has already been made "in favour" for it, so we can't exactly make it illegal with the snap of your fingers. so thats why i call marijuana a gateway drug, into the illegal sense. i did not forget about alcohol as a drug.

the end outcome with any form of drug or substance, there will ALWAYS be people who abuse it, more likely if it is legalized. IMO.

edit: just give it time, probably will be legalized sooner than we all think. like apeshit said, it would put a big dent into gang cashflow.

naw that wouldnt change shit, gangs would just start slinging coke and harder drugs.... gangs will be unaffected :P

We should use Portugal as an example: This is acountry with NO drug Laws at all. EVERYTHING is Decriminalized there, YET, they report less drug deaths per year then The US. Isnt that strange? Most people think if drugs were legal they would smoke them all the time and whatnot, but think back to the old days of Prohibition. More Aclohol was consumed when it was illegal to drink then at any other time in history. Im sure the same thing would happen with other Drugs, such as Pot, Im not saying we should go to the extremes like Portugal did, but i dont think decriminalizing pot is such a bad idea

I drink I smoke... I think its up to the individual to make sure they are not being fools and destroying their life. However, I never started getting out of hand until I first went to college and learned about the "bender". Maybe its different for everyone, but booze was my gateway, not pot.

If pot gets legalized then we're all finished, I'm moving out of the country. Netherlands is great because people still WORK and DO shit. Here, we already have too many useless people soaking up my hard-earned money because they're "injured" - i.e. immigrant lazy bitchclats who don't wanna work and take advantage.

Not to mention how fucked up our generation is - there's no moderation man, no responsibility, no self-worth. If pot were to get legalized here, we'd have normal people like Cock etc who can handle a joint while maintaining a normal standard of citizenship (i.e. working, etc) while the other 99% would get lazy, fat, and stupid.
