Yeah...I find the VIP is the ultimate mind fuck of strategy. So fun, and changes up the de_ and cs_ scenarios.

The problem with VIP is that it's now a mod to CS:S where as it's part of the game in 1.6. :errf:

Valve is a derp.

I hope you can find a mod for it and that it's not a buggy pile of shit brades :smile:

Oilrig is an amazing map, so much fun! unless a derp is the VIP. then it's a waste of a whole round lol.

Pretty simple, really. The VIP is a CT who gets double armor and a USP and has to run like a mofo to the "Escape zone", which the Terrorists have to camp.

If he gets away, he gets a fat cash bonus (2 or 4K, I don't remember.) If he gets shot, round over. Generally, the Ts either Blitzkrieg the CT Spawn area trying to catch the VIP sleeping, or they camp the escape zone and wait for him to show up, if not both.

As for CTs, either they will go the "massive body shield" route and all take bullets for their VIP or they will go the "Decoy" route and try to lead the Ts away from the VIP's escape route. (Depends on how leet or retarded your VIP is really.)

Speaking of potential new maps, I dunno if they ever made this map for Source, but de_survivor used to be some fun shit!

I did a quick look on ixquick and foudn this server which provides only two as_ maps for CSsource. Whether there is an oilrig or not I just got giddy and am posting as I speak. Rig was a sick map, never played other as_ maps, but maybe we should try it out. Put it on a server with not a lot of traffic to avoid the complaints and whines of nubbs?

as_ maps need AWPs considering the armor bonus on the VIP, so definitely not the main pub lol.

@danny- complaints happen anywhere and with as little as 2 people, can't dodge that bullet

as_tundra in earlier CS was fun as well

I'm all for it. I don't really think an AWP is necessary to kill the VIP. AKs work fine, and headshots are headshots.

we've had oilrig on several times over the years. never with awps. the point of it is that you aren't supposed to be able to get him easily!

There were some awesome maps, in 1.6 that haven't been updated :( sucks.
