Loosing faith in apple

I'll just smile and nod. How 'bout that? .

I mean, I'd settle for a short paragraph with some sort of substance that debunks the statements other posters and myself have made.

Go find me one producer out there that specifically says "I'd rather use PC cause it's better". Then I'll agree..

You're missing the point - no one said PC was better and no one made the claim that there's not a lot of people in the industry who use macs, we were just trying to say that they're both quite good at accomplishing recording related tasks and from a purely functional point of view there's no signfigant advantages to getting a mac.

calling shenanigans on that - there may have been a point where you NEEDED mac but I'm fairly certain that's not the case anymore - PC software / hardware has gotten to the point where its just as good a platform to do audio work.
Yaaaa but, no, there isn't. It's not just an industry standard because it looks fuckin cool in the studio. There's a reason why Apple is the most profitable software company in the world.

As a guy who's been flirting with, downloading, trying, buying, installing and using audio software for over 10 years (yes, that's accurate, I'm a bit nutty and a certified audiophile who likes production on a personal level), I can honestly say there is no software for Windows that comes even close to supporting the level of quality (with respect to programming, audio quality etc), VST (plug-ins) compatibility, versatility, interface etc. the list goes on - to some of the programs available for Apple.

I'm not a fanboy, nor do I own a Mac. I built a Hackintosh because I think Macs are just way too overpriced. And, for the record, ever since Windows 7, I absolutely love Windows.
