Looking to build a new computer.

Did u read good reviews about the mobo? I have an asus one myself, and got no probs with it.

The vid card is pretty outdated by today's standards. If you would consider putting another $100-$150 into the gpu you could get something much better...unless u were planning to sli the cards

If u do SLI, you need a better PSU than the 620W

Case is solid, I got the same one :]

Consider chipping in $30 to get a Coolermaster heatsink+fan for your CPU to get best performance and to overclock in the future

make sure u get a mobo that overclocks well, and get a better gpu than that.

The graphics card I was actually looking to swap out. Wasn't sure of which. Buddy's boss recommended that because I told him I wanted to stream .

Power supply as well, I'm not to familiar with setting them up but it was recommended, I have a buddy working in canadacmoputers who I was going to ask for advice.

Any recommendations on a gpu?

Any recommendations on a gpu?

Depends on a few things:

How much do you want to spend?

What games will you be playing?

Do you want a card that will last for a few years or one you wouldn't mind replacing or sli/xfire'ing?

ATI cards are usually the best value for performance cards IMO
ie. HD 6950

Nvidia cards are more pricey but usually have solid performance
ie. GTX 560

You can buy factory OC'd GPUs too that are slightly more expensive than the native GPU but provide better performance...might even be able to OC them further too

Already dishing out quite a bit, little bit more wouldn't hurt, how do prices look for higher quality gpus, or good ones. Main games will be guild wars 2 csgo, d3 cyris 3

I've never posted there myself, but I've heard that /r/buildapc give out pretty good advice.
Post there and ask any questions you might need, the people that hang out there should know a fair bit.

http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130749 <- stat wise they look alike

100 DIFFERENCE in shadder and core clock, what big of a difference does this make? Sorry new to comparing cards. 100 dollar difference for 100 difference in shadder and core clock 720 1540 - 820 1640, what difference does this make?

the gtx 560 looks the same as the 460 except 100$ cheaper detail wise other than a few more cores .

I have a 460 (that I don't use anymore :errf:) and it OCs quite well. I remember S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat (a game that is used a lot for GFX benchmarking) wouldn't run very well at max settings and 1080 resolution but after ramping up the card a bit it worked beautifully. DirectCU cards came with voltage cap bump off the shelf but firmware modding for more juice was pretty easy. Anyway, CoP is still a graphically demanding game by today's standards.

Yeh it was an epic game. The game studio that made the game recently made a vid announcing that instead of making another S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game they're going to be attempting a S.T.A.L.K.E.R.-style FPS MMO. Apparently they already have the funding for it so I guess it's just a matter of time before we see how it goes

I dont know if this means anything to your build, but I would check Canada Computers. They sometimes build randomly good cpus and leave them for someone to walk-in and buy. I did this and just upgraded the video card like 4-5 years ago and the cpu is still one of the best things out there and i have had no issues beyond having to add fans and control the dust.

Well I might check, but mainly looking to build because I feel that it would be too unlikely for that to happen.

I didnt pay very much either, but ya I guess it would be luck of the draw if they happened to have one at the store you go to.

Nvidia G8800 is still the only video card I have ever owned and its perfectly fine for any games that I have played - Deus Ex plays great on my cpu.
